On Saturday, August 20, 2011, a Tropical Storm named Irene was born in the vicinity of the Windward Islands.
As the Meteorologist’s from the National Hurricane Center began the process of tracking the storm and proceeded the process of warning people along the East Coast of the United States of the progress of this storm named Irene which would soon become a hurricane and threaten all who were in its path.
It was twenty years ago when Hurricane Bob came through New England causing wide spread damage to many homes and businesses.

With Technology as it is today, it was very easy to turn on your TV to watch the news reporters from the Bahamas and up the East Coast of the US begin to describe the preparations that we would need to make to ensure our safety, as well as the safety of our families.
By the time Irene came into New England, it was clear that the eye would proceed up the Connecticut River Valley which would bring the heavy rains to the west of the Springfield, MA area. East of Springfield would receive the heavier winds from the storm.

Most folks heeded the warnings and begin to stock up on needed supplies, such as water, batteries, generators and food as well as other items. You could walk into any store and see that the shelves had been emptied. If you came late, you were out of luck.
I cannot even begin to describe the power of Hurricane Irene and all the damage that was caused; even as I write this blog entry, there are those in our local area that are still without power. We also have heard of the tremendous damage and loss that the people of Upstate New York, Vermont and New Hampshire had suffered as a result of Hurricane Irene. I believe that there were at least 45 deaths in 13 states as a result of this storm.
The time frame of the onslaught of Hurricane Irene was narrowed down to a period of just a few hours. We knew about what time the full force of the winds and rain would hit the areas that we lived in, so we could talk all the precautions needed to prepare for the event that was about to unfold.
There is another event that one day will take place. An event that mankind has been warned about for over 2000 years. The preparation for this event has been broadcast over Television, Cable Station, Radio and face to face by those men and women who have served God in the past, and who are presently Preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The name of the event that I am speaking about is “The Return of Jesus Christ.” Jesus Christ will not just affect one corner of the world, but the lives of every man, woman and child who has ever been born. The affects of this event will not only you for your life on earth, but also where you will spend Eternity in either Heaven or Hell.
God loved mankind so much that He gave us the instructions on how to prepare for this upcoming event.
Look at what God’s Word states:

(16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
(17) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
(18) He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Jesus Christ came to save us from our sins:

Jesus will forgive us of our sins:

(9) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

(2) In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
(3) And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
