From the book of 1 Peter 5:7, we read that God does care for us

7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
As far as going under for the last time…look at what the Prophet Isaiah had to say,
Isaiah 43:2 (NIV)
2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
You see; God loves you so much that He sent His only Son to Save us; from what, you may ask; from our sins. When someone is drowning, they want someone to save them. It’s the same with you and I, we are/were drowning in our sins, and we need someone to come and save us; that someone is Jesus Christ.
John 3:16-17 (NIV)
16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
