Shawsheen Tech Student and Tewksbury Resident Awarded Scholarship
Mitchell Szmyt was given a $500 scholarship by the Tewksbury Public Library.
Tewksbury resident and Shawsheen Technical High School graduate Mitchell Szmyt recently received a $500 scholarship that will go towards his time studying at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
Last week Tewksbury Public Library announced the scholarship presentation on its Facebook page, awarding Szmyt with the Elisabeth Desmarais Honorary Scholarship for 2014.
The lifelong Tewksbury resident will be studying Visual Design and Digital Media while at UMass Dartmouth.
During his time at Shawsheen Tech, Szmyt was a member of the National Honor Society and was a regular volunteer at Tewksbury Public Library.
