T-Wolves over Hawks
The T-Wolves (4-1) continued to their winning ways with some balanced scoring in their fourth win of the season Saturday over the scrappy Hawks. The T-Wolves had to turn on the offense after falling behind early. The scoring was led by Luke Maresca (17pts), Ian Maresca (8pts) and Joey Arsenault (6pts). The offense was rounded out by Brandon Wood (2pts), Johnny Norwood (2pts), and a beautiful baseline jumper that hit nothing but net by Eddie Galante (2pts). The defense was strong throughout with Derek Wilkinson, Chandler Dubay and Kodie Legrand forcing many turnovers helping the T-Wolves secure the lead.
The Hawks started out needing some great defense by Sean Connolly who was great covering his player in man to man defense. Sean also got off a nice shot from the top of the key. Christian Smith scored the first basket of his 8 points to open scoring for the Hawks. Johnny Baker drained a great shot from the floor for a smooooth basket. Brady Litton was very good at bringing up the ball and getting the ball to the open player. Johnny Ragucci was a monster on the offensive end pulling down rebounds and putting it right back for a couple of nice baskets. Michael Carlson who scored a great basket also played his best game at defense this season and was named defensive player of the game. Michael Hill was solid and dependable bringing the ball up as the point guard making a nice dribbling move and getting off a nice shot. William Eskenas made an MVP caliber move blocking a shot and then taking it the other way, finding the open player and earning an assist.

RAPTORS OVER BUCKS
The Raptors had to overcome a slow start to earn a great win against the Bucks. Raptors had to adjust to the Bucks tight defense up front but once they did Tommy Crawford, Christian Marsden and Joseph Romero sunk some balls for the win. Brady Lane, JJ Svendsen, Cooper Frye, Eric Bellavia, and Jack Pelletier made it possible to hold the Bucks from taking the lane with some great defense. Daniel Richardson and Nicholas Wilson had some nice shots that fell short. Raptors are on a bye next week and will look forward to some time off to rest and enjoy the holidays.

The Bucks through tough defense kept the game close but could not generate enough offense to pull out a victory.
David Harris scored 2 points and played his forward position well gathering multiple rebounds. Travis Cohen played tough defense including multiple blocked shots. Brian Carleton, Dylan Paulding and Aiden Crogan played the point guard positions well dishing to their teammates down low for high percentage shots. Trent Cutroneo was the recipient of many of the good passes from the point guards and was able to take multiple high percentage shots. William Humphries, Tristen Leslie and Ryan Murphy played their positions well including hard-nosed defense and rebounding.
Sixers 16 Knicks 8
Sixers came out strong this week against the Knicks despite only having 6 players. Last minute the Sixers recruited rookie player Daniel Sullivan to help fill a spot on the roster. Defense has been the Sixers strength and continues on that path. Dan Fleming, Ryan Fleming, David Timmons and Daniel Sullivan all had multiple steals. Strong defense and passing from Pouriya Mehrabani, John O’Donnell and Kyle Adams. Kyle also had a number of key rebounds, never letting up, and one leading to a hoop for two. David and Daniel S. had many attempts at shots, but fell short of having one drop this week. The remainder of the baskets was scored by the power team of the Fleming brothers, Ryan and Dan.
The Knicks once again played strong team defense led by Tyler Trodden, Jayden Donaher and Scott Lightburn. The Knicks got on the board early thanks to a basket by Nick Polimeno. The Knicks kept the game close by controlling the defensive boards thanks to strong rebounding from Blake Ryder and Aidan Crawson.
The Knicks had several great chances to cut the 76ers lead to 2, but couldn’t quite capitalizes on the scoring chances that were setup be great passing from Daedon Bere. However, the Knicks scored several late points as they attempted to rally. Nick Polimeno scored once again and also threw the team’s pass of the year to setup Trevor Trodden for 1 of his two baskets. Trevor played another strong game after shaking off an early knee injury.
THUNDER 24 SUNS 16
The Thunder pulled out the victory over the Suns 24-16. The key to the victory was outstanding rebounding and solid defense. Taylor Pendleton was all over the floor leading the team in rebounding and Bobby Branchaud anchored the strong team defense. The Thunder moved the ball well against the stifling Suns defense helped by Nicholas Alvarado’s passing. The offensive attack got contributions from 5 of the 7 players with Aiden Trulli leading the way with 16 and 2 points each from Connor Griffin, Sam Hines, Brady McHugh, and Pendleton.
Intermediate Division
Celtics 37 Wizards 32
The Intermediate Celtics came away with a win against the Wizards in a hard fought game. Every player needed to step up to get the win and they all did. Leading the way in scoring was Jeff Moore exploding for 14pts. Follow up scorers were Nathan Ell (13pt), Evan Wood (4pts), Joey Schifano (4pts), and Ryan Anderson (2pts). Outstanding offensive performances was turned in Kyle Marrocco and Kyle Burris. On the defensive side an outstanding performance was turned in by Ryan Smith turning away key shots in the throughout the game. Other key contributors were Jarryd Hickey and Jimmy Strickler.
Jazz 31 Bucks 28
The Jazz started out slow on Saturday against a very hot shooting Bucks team and were down by 8 early. Scoring for the jazz was once again a team effort.
Ryan Meuse continued his scoring ways with 8pts, Josh Pelletier dropped in 4pts. Sam Fortier, Derek Wallace, & Nate Wilkinson all had 2pts and played great at the guard position. Pat Moge, & Nick Stephens both had (2pts) and played great Defense. Leading the way on offense with some huge baskets late in the final minutes was Joshua Donaher with 9pts.
The defensive player of the game for the Jazz was their big man Jack Callinan playing another tuff game down low keeping the Bucks at bay. Matt Pelletier had some big plays late in the game to help seal the win.
Bucks Coach:
The game was a great back and further battle that saw many lead changes but in the end was won by a strong Jazz team. Leading the way for the Bucks was Jake Dillon with 8 points followed by Jake Winter and Derek Stienbrecker with 6 points each. Also, hitting the score sheet was Kyle Strong with 4 points as well as Cam O’Hearn and Jason Richardson with 2 points each. On the defensive end of the floor as well and big rebounding were Chris Dami, Raymond Humphrey, Cam Grace and Josh Winter.
Hornets 34 Bobcats 18
This game was much closer than the final score. The Bobcats defense was hard to crack. It was tied for three quarters until the Hornets got hot in the last eight minutes. The scoring was lead by Adam Hines and Kevin Carroll with 10 pts each. It was another team effort with additional scoring by Logan Singleton, Andrew Lefebvre, Nick Heinze, Jake Ruocchio and Drew Fletcher. The strong defense of Brandon Coolidge, Kyle Curtin and "The Big Man " Justyn Lester keep the Hornets in the game
Suns vs Thunder
The Suns came out on the short end of this one. Scorers were Dylan Franko and Mathew Dugan with a 3 point shot each. Anthony Miano and Jake Durant with one basket each. All the boys had great passing. Many attempts were made but the ball wouldn't go thru the hoop.
Junior Division
Clippers vs. Lakers
The Saturday before Christmas was a defensive battle between the Clippers and Lakers in the Junior Division. The Clippers struck first, then the Lakers got on board with Jason Martineau getting 2 of 6 points. Robert Cortes stepped up and put in 2 more. Both teams ran the floor stealing and interrupting passes from each other with Matt Rosemond, Sean Fahey, and Cam Hodgson slowing down the Clipper's offense. Jason Martineau put in 2 more points before the half making it 6-4 Lakers. The 3rd Quarter started with the same all defensive play - neither team giving any chances. Pat Rosemond, Tyler Raschella and Shane McDonald kept the Clippers honest. Matt Rosemond then put in a new shot for his 2 points, ending the 3rd Quarter 8-6 Lakers.
Both Teams then went all out Offense, exchanging baskets, Jason Martineau added 2 more making 10-6, the Clippers answered making it 10-8, then Tyler Demers sealed the finale with 2 points making it 12-8 Lakers.

Tewksbury 5th Grade White 36 Westford Grey 19
Tewksbury 5 White traveled to Westford bright and early on Saturday and defeated Westford Grey 36 to 19. The win brings 5W’s record to 5-4 in league play (9-5 overall). 5W started slow but fought hard throughout the first half, taking a 18-12 lead into the break. The defense really kicked into gear in the second half as 5W only allowed 7second half points. Santino Garofalo dominated the defensive boards to limit Westford’s chances. Both Brodie Tirrell and Nicky Iannacci turned up the heat and made life miserable for the Westford offense.
Offensively, Tyler Keough and Chris Antonelli led the charge with 8 points each, while Evan Mantel and Thomas Barinelli each added 6 points. Garrett Kingston (4), Max Cummings (2) and Aidan Doherty (2) rounded out the scoring. Nolan Timmons did an exceptional job distributing the ball from the point.
Tewksbury 7th Grade Red
Tewksbury 7th Grade Red gets a big win against Westford 47 to 35. Scorring was lead by John Ciampa with 16, Jared Mason 10, Cam Kelly 5, Ben McKay and Brandon Winn chipped in with 4 points.
Defensively, Mason Lorick, Joe Rosbreg, Chris Monteneri, Jesse Lamrca and Troy Acconcia all turned in great games.
7 Red’s overall record improves to 7 win and 6 loses.
Tewksbury 8th Grade Blue
On Saturday Tewksbury Blue faced Beverly. The Redmen struggled on offense in the early part of the game, but the boys came to life as Michael Butler (6 points, 1 rebound), Ethan Trudeau (4 points, 1 rebound) and Nick Zullo (5 points, 6 rebounds) strung together some quick hoops to give Tewksbury a 13-5 lead midway into the first half.
Defensively, Andrew Pacheco (1 rebound) and Brian Lelos (3 points) kept Beverly out on the perimeter, while Matty McLaughlin (6 points) wreaked havoc, causing Beverly turn overs that Tewksbury converted into easy hoops. The Redmen led at the half 20-13.
Beverly came out energized to start the 2H, they moved the ball bette,r but Brendan Murray (2 rebounds) and Connor Dave (4 rebounds) allowed no easy shots. The Tewksbury big men were beasts on the boards, with Jon Fuller (10 points, 17 rebounds) and David Stein (6 points, 11 rebounds) limiting Beverly to single shots.
But Tewksbury again struggled offensively and Beverly closed the gap to 2 points early in the half. Then Josh Terrell (5 points, 4 rebounds) grabbed some boards and twice went end to end down the court for 2 quick lay-ups, giving Tewksbury a 32-22 lead at the halfway point. Aggressive D from the Redmen led to more steals, the boys expanded their lead to 13 points, and won by a final score 46-26.
Tewksbury 6th Grade Blue
Still down one man as Fran Pino remains out due to injury, the Sixth Grade Blue fought hard on Reading’s courts but dropped a 46-28 decision. Matthew Cahill was on fire, leading the team with 7 points, all scored during the second half. Tony Mannetta was close behind, including one basket made shooting backwards.
David Miller quickly stole the ball a number of times, handing it off to Sean Whelton to push it up the court. Derek Schumaker rock and rolled each time he grabbed the ball from the other team. CJ Zemetres was intense on both defense and offense. Matthew Perron forced the other team out of bounds with his quick moves and refusal to back down. Michael Rosenberg had a strong defense by boxing out the Reading players and getting the rebounds throughout the game. Casey DeCost magnetically caught the rebounds on both ends of the court and Connor Nugent kept putting the ball back up.
