Local Student Receives $2,000 College Scholarship.

Recently, Jeff Davis from TSDI Enrichment Programs, Inc., a 501 (c) 3 non-profit public charity awarded a $2,000 Martial Arts Cultural Enrichment College Scholarship to Alex Gillis, a Black Belt student from The Self-Defense Institute in Tewksbury. MA.

Alex Gillis, an outstanding Black Belt student, was presented this martial arts college scholarship in front of hundreds of spectators at the 12th annual Competition of Champions, which was held at the Wynn Middle School in Tewksbury in June 2013.  According to Mr. Davis, "Alex was awarded this college scholarship as Alex has exceeded the expectations of leadership,  has impressive martial arts skills, and has a commitment to personal excellence.  Alex is a successful martial arts competitor, a member of the National Black Belt Club, and an honorable member of the elite Team TSDI.  He has an outstanding academic record, as well as an outstanding resume of community service.  We wish Alex much success at Fitchburg State University and beyond!"

For several years, TSDI Enrichment Programs, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit public charity, has awarded a college scholarship of over $2,000 to a local high school student with excellent personal, academic and community achievements.
Also, The Self-Defense Institute continues to be recognized by national associations  for exemplary teaching, leadership in the community and a commitment to excellence. The Self-Defense Institute was chosen from hundreds of studios in the Northeast to receive the Bruce Lee Foundation Award presented to Shihan Jeff and Shihan Deb by Shannon Lee, Bruce Lee's daughter, at the 2012 Grand Nationals in Rhode Island.  For more information about The Self-Defense Institute, go to www.tsdiOnLine.com.
