Lowell 33  Tewksbury 5th Grade Red 29

Tewksbury started out slow and Lowell took advantage to jump out to a 15-6 lead about mid-way through the first half. After a time out the boys picked up their defense, spearheaded by Kyle Rossetti, Chad Boschetti, CJ Zemetres, Riley Frost and Zach Tyler. This unit caused many turnovers which lead to easy baskets; they also settled down the offense and worked many plays for easy baskets.

The next group came in, following the last groups effort and were able to go into the break tied 15-15. The second half saw a game that had many lead changes and it became a game that could go either way. Unfortunately a lucky bounce went to Lowell as they put up an off balance shot that bounced a few times and then rolled in to break a 29-29 tie.

Third Time is a Charm for Tewksbury 4th Grade White

Tewksbury 4 White had a busy weekend with Lowell teams.  On Thursday, 4W had a disappointing 27-24 loss to Lowell White.  The team struggled throughout the contest to find any rhythm and fell 3 points short.  Chris Antonelli led the scoring with 8 points followed by Santino Garofalo with 5 points.  Max Cummings, Thomas Barinelli, Nicky Iannacci, Joey Branchaud and Evan Mantel each added 2 points.

On Saturday, 4W took on a very strong Lowell Red team and, despite a solid team effort, came out on the wrong end of a 51-38 final.  4W got balanced scoring as Tyler Keough led the charge with 11 points while Antonelli and Cummings each had 7 points.  Rounding out the scoring were Garofalo (4 pts), Branchaud (4 pts), Mantel (4 pts) and Jason Martineau (1 pt).

On Sunday, 4W exacted some revenge with a very impressive 37-19 victory over Lowell White.  Keough and Antonelli maintained their hot hands scoring 15 and 11 points respectively.  They were followed by Martineau (4 pts), Mantel (3 pts), Cummings (2 pts) and Garofalo (2 pts).  Brodie Tirrell played his typical aggressive style pulling down rebounds and fighting for every loose ball while Aidan Doherty and Nicky Iannacci made some key steals to start fast breaks for 4W.
