U11 Boys Tewksbury - 2   (13)  vs. Dracut  (12)

The Tewksbury BU11-2 played an away game vs Dracut.  Tewksbury came away with a 13 – 12 sudden death overtime win.  Trailing by 4 goals at half time and by only 3 at the end of the 3rd quarter, the defense stepped up along with great goal tending by Nicholas Brooks to hold Dracut to only 3 second half scores.  The offense cranked it up in the second half by scoring 7 goals in regulation and the game winner in OT.

The outstanding defense was led by Stephen Duquette, Sean Sears, Riley Auth and Brendan Flynn.  Great goal tending by Nicholas Brooks and Robert Chisholm allowed the offense to take control of the game in the second half.  Offensive leaders were Shane Aylward 5 goals, Derek Schumaker 4 goals, including the game winner in OT, Connor Brincklow 3 goals and Richard Markwarth with 1.  Also contributing to the very good offense performance were Owen Gilligan, Matthew Rosemond, Nicholas Brooks and Robert Chisholm making great passes and clears that lead to break away scoring opportunities.  This was a great performance on both sides of the fields by the kids.  We incorporated a new defense this week that took a little getting used to but held Dracut to only 3goals in the second half of play.   The coaching staff of Darren Schumaker and William (Billy Boy) Brincklow would like to thank the parents, family and friends that travel each and every week to the games.  All your support of the kids truly helps and we appreciate it.

The Tewksbury Boys U13-1 played an exciting double overtime game against a very evenly matched Waltham team. Missing a few key defensive and offensive players the team banded together, played terrific, and led the entire game. The teams traded goals for four quarters, until Waltham tied it with just under 30 seconds remaining in regulation.  Both teams fought hard through one overtime period, and deep into the second overtime until Waltham prevailed victorious.  Tewksbury’s offense was on fire, and leading the way was Brendan Sjostedt totaling up 4 goals assisted by sharp passing from Drew Fletcher on three and Kevin Carta on one. Tyler Harvey sniped two rockets into the back of net unassisted and Carta added to the total led by Ethan Hepler and Jimmy Strickler.  Shawn O’Neil and Robbie Gilligan helped set up a well executed score by Hepler, and Connor Power assisted by Carta, kept the team ahead by beating the goalie high. Nick Diminico rounded out the total for Tewksbury by firing in a hard shot led by Kyle Strong and Nick Muise.  The Defensive unit for the team was exceptional.  Goalie Ryan – “Tim Thomas” - Flynn made several acrobatic saves keeping the game close, and his D-mates  Ben Connors, JP Mooney and Chris Lucas played tirelessly the entire game with no substitutions, and turned back Waltham’s attack multiple times. Tewksbury will face Waltham again in two weeks in a rematch, which promises to be another exciting contest.
