Girls Basketball Season Ends in North Quarterfinal

Second-seeded Bedford was too much for the Lady Redmen over the weekend.

The Tewksbury Memorial High School girls basketball team put together a stellar season that lasted into the North Division 2 quarterfinal round. But that's as far as the Redmen could go as they ran into a difficult opponent.

Second-seeded Bedford toppled No. 7 Tewksbury on Saturday by a 52-40 score, ending the Redmen season with a record of 15-7.

The locals advanced to the quarterfinals thanks to last week's 45-41 victory over Wakefield in the opening round.

Bedford, meanwhile, earned a first round bye thanks to its 18-4 regular season.

Thanks to the win, Bedford earned a date with Arlington Catholic in the semifinals. That game is set for Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. and the winner will play either Watertown or Hamilton-Wenham in the bracket final.
