Gorman, Doucette Lead Tewksbury Past Dracut, 53-46

Tewksbury 52, Dracut 46

Sean Gorman had a double-double and guard Mike Doucette dropped in 17 points to lead to a 52-46 MVC win on the road over Dracut, Thursday night.

Gorman had 13 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Doucette added six rebounds, as Tewksbury dominated the paint.

The Redmen trailed entering the fourth quarter, but some clutch shooting from the field and the free throw line erased the Middies' lead. Tewksbury hit eight straight free throws.

The TMHS defense was stifling in the second half, led by senior guard Joe Hulme, who had six steals to go along with 11 points. Caig Semenze added five steals.

Sean Foley chipped in with nine points, including a three-pointer just before halftime that pulled the Redmen to within five points at intermission.

Girls Basketball

Bishop Fenwick 56, Tewksbury 28

The early season struggles continued for in a 56-28 loss to Bishop Fenwick. Freshmen Sara Semenza had seven points to lead the Redmen. Kelli Sugrue added five.
