Girls win their fourth straight game to move into first place.

Tewksbury 43, Chelmsford 38

The Tewksbury High girls basketball team continued its patented late-season surge, with a thrilling come-from-behind win over Chelmsford High, Tuesday night at the TMHS Gym.

Senior Captain Nicole Chaet led the way for the Redmen with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Tewksbury outscored Chelmsford, 19-6 in the fourth quarter, after trailing for much of the game.

Chaet scored midway through the fourth quarter to give the Redmen the lead for good. Junior Sara Semenza dropped in a game-high 13 points for Tewksbury. Junior Shannon Semenza aded seven.

With the win, the Redmen improve to 7-8 on the season. More importantly, they improved to 5-1 in the MVC Small School Division, which puts them in a first-place tie with Chelmsford.

Boys Basketball

Tewksbury 57, Chelmsford 54

Tewksbury kept their slim tournament hopes alive with a hard-fought road win over Chemsford.

Freshman Justin Derrah had the chance to play hero for the Redmen on this night. He drained a three-pointer in the final seconds to give Tewksbury the win.

Tewksbury improved to 6-10 on the season and 2-8 in the MVC. The Redmen were paced by 18 points from junior Xavier Salamon. Sophomore Alex DiRocco added 17 points and junior Kevin Dick chipped in with 12.
