Redmen Roundup: Boys Hockey Wins, As Petti Hits Milestone

Tewksbury 5, Boston Latin 1

It took Derek Petti less than a minute to take care of the milestone and his teammates only slightly longer to disaptch Boston Latin, 5-1, on Saturday.

Petti scored the first of his two goals just 30 seconds into the game, giving him 100 points for his high school career.

The victory improved the Redmen's record to 7-1-1 on the season and ran their unbeaten streat to eight games.

Kyle Paquette turned in another tremendous game in net for Tewksbury, turning aside 30 shots. Ryan Petti, Mike Casey and Dario Riparo added single goals in the win.

With the loss, Boston Latin drops to 5-2-2.

Girls Hockey

Tewksbury/Methuen 3, Chelmsford 2

The Red Rangers had their first taste of defeat last week against Acton-Boxboro and it didn't sit well. So in their first game back on the ice they took care of business against Chelmsford High in a 3-2 victory.

Amanda Conway scored two more goals for the Red Rangers, including the game-winner in the third period. Kelly Golini also scored for the winners.

Taylor Lirakis was rock-solid in net, with 37 saves.

Tewksbury Methurn improved to 4-1-2 with the win.
