The Tewksbury High boys soccer team picked up its first point of the season, battling to 1-1 tie against Triton Regional.

Dario Riparo set up Nick Bain for the Redmen's lone goal of the game. Keeper Cody Lafortune made five saves in net, as Tewksbury moved its record to 0-4-1. James Aronson and Matt Lemos also had strong games for the Redmen.

Central Catholic's Aly Spencer, a transfer from Tewksbury High, scored twice to lead the Raiders to a 5-0 MVC win over the Redmen on Saturday.

Girls Cross Country

Twenty girls competed for Tewksbury High at the recent Clipper Relays at Maudlsay State Park. The race featured three runners per team, each running two miles.

Tewksbury High's top team included Carina Berglund (13:07), Rachel McCabe (13:30) and Sam McGouldrick (13:52), who placed 23rd in a combined time of 40:29.

The Redmen's second team included Caitlin Leary (14:41), Jackie Brindle 17:41) and Emma Sutherland (19:06). the third team included Courtney Graffeo (14:00), Bridget Blair (14:41) and Ann Pasterello (18:03).

Six runners posted Clipper Relay personal bests. Emma Sutherland bested her previous best by 2:14. Ann Pastorello took 1:55 off her best. Rachel McCabe took 1:19 off her best. Grace Canavan bested her previous best by 48 seconds. Ally Giles broker her old best by 46 seconds and  Sam McGouldrick topper her previous best by 12 seconds.

Also, Kristina Dick ran a 13:39 leg to become the fastest TMHS freshman to ever run at the Clipper Relays.
