Redmen Roundup: Mixed Results For Cross-Country At Triple-Dual Meet

Tewksbury High harriers each win one and lose two against Methuen, North Andover and Chelmsford.

Tewksbury's Brian Amaral once again proved that he is one of the top runners in the MVC but the overall team results for the Redmen were mixed as they took on Methuen, Chelmsford and North Andover in an MVC triple-dual meet on the 2.8 mile course at Methuen High.

Tewksbury blasted North Andover (18-39) but fell to Methuen (25-30) and Chelmsford (20-41) to drop to 2-4 on the season.

Amaral had another strong race, placing second overall in a time of 14:36, just nine seconds off the winning time. Cory Thomas ran well and placed 10th overall for the Redmen in 15:44. Nick Souza put together a strong race, placing 14th overall in 15:56.

Girls Cross Country

Tewksbury 15, Methuen 48

North Andover 25, Tewksbury 31

Chelmsford 15, Tewksbury 48

The results were also mixed for the Tewksbury High girls cross country team in their MVC triple-dual meet on the 2.8 mile course at Methuen High.

The Redmen blanked the host Rangers (15-48) but came up short against both North Andover (25-31) and Chelmsford (15-48).

Chelmsford dominated the top 15 but Tewksbury did have some strong individual performances. Carina Berglund placed 9th overall in 19:06 and Kirsten Dick placed 10th in 19:07. Samantha McGouldrick also put together a strong race, placing 15th overall in 20:12.
