Redmen Roundup: TMHS Softball Team Gets DiRocco 300th Win

Baseball tops Methuen but falls short against Central Catholic.

Softball

roared out to a 13-0 lead after three innings and coasted to a 14-1 win over Andover, in a game stopped after 5 innings due to the "mercy rule."

The win was significant to the Redmen because it . But it was more meaningful because it was the 300th victory of head coach He is 300-171.

Tiffanie Marsh went the first three innings to earn the win in the circle. She struck out four and didn’t allow a hit.

Sherri Liggiero and Meghan McLaughlin ripped three hits each to pace the offense. Sam LaFerriere and Brooke Hardy added two hits each, as Tewksbury improved to 10-3 on the season.

Baseball

When is on top of his game, he is virtually unhittable. Chotkowski tossed a two-hitter and struck out 11 on Sunday to lead the Redmen to a 9-0 pasting of Methuen. It was Chotkowski's third shutout of the season. Chotkowski carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning

Brad Gahagan (two RBI) and Zack Dirocco (three RBI) had three hits each to pace the Tewksbury offense. to contniue his torrid hitting this spring. Dom Rosado also chipped in with a pair of hits.

Unfortunately, the Redmen could not maintain their momentum. Tewksbury was on the receiving end of a great pitching performance in a 4-0 loss to Central Catholic. Paul Trabuco tossed a three-hitter for CC. McLaughlin, Rosado and Gahagan had the only hits for the Redmen.

Cam Oliveira pitched well for four innings despite taking the loss. He allowed just one earned run, while striking out four. Tewksbury dropped to 5-9 on the season.

Girls Lacrosse

The Tewksbury High girls softball team continues to show improvement. Unfortunately, it's not showing up in their win column.

The Redmen battled Lowell hard for four quarters but came out on the short end of a 14-12 decision.

for Tewksbury. She netted a career-high eight goals and an assist to pace the Redmen attack.

Abby Donoghue chipped in with three goals for Tewksbury, which dropped to 2-8 on the season. Haley Sutherland and Taylor Lirakis had two assists each in the loss.
