Tewksbury Artist Creates Mask for Bruins Goalie Tuukka Rask

The local artist's goal for the mask was to "make it mean and scary."

The Bruins take on the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday night in a critical Game 7. If you can pull your eyes away from the action for a split second, you may see something that was the work of a Tewksbury resident.

Tewksbury resident Ron Slater, 35, is responsible for the design on the mask of Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask, who will be between the pipes as the Black and Gold attempt to advance to the Eastern Conference Final.

Slater created the intimidating look of the mask using mainly airbrush techniques, according to a feature story on WBUR.com. So what was his inspiration?

"Make it mean and scary," Slater said, according to WBUR.com.
