Tewksbury knocked in a goal in the latter part of the second half.

The Tewksbury Memorial High School field hockey team fought hard on the road Friday against Swampscott and came away with a 2-1 win in the tournament game.

With the score knotted 1-1, Swampscott pressured Tewksbury and dominated play for much of the second half. But they were unable to knock a ball into Tewksbury's goal.

Swampscott goalie Katie Papele showed poise under pressure making a point-blank save with about 10 minutes to go in the game.

Several minutes later, Tewksbury slapped a short range shot that appeared to strike the post before sailing high into Swampscott's goal.

Tewksbury's goals were scored by Ashley Kelly and Kelsie Bradley.

It was a tough loss Swampscott, especially for the seniors after the team's sparkling 12-win season and tournament win against Wayland earlier in the week, 1-0.

Annie Kane scored Swampscott's goal.
