Tewksbury Girls Basketball Moving on With Win Over Wakefield

The Lady Redmen will take on Bedford on Saturday at 7 p.m.

The Tewksbury Memorial High School girls basketball team's playoff dreams live on, while a strong campaign by Wakefield came to an end.

On Wednesday night, the Lady Redmen snuck past visiting Wakefield by a 45-41 margin to advance to the quarterfinal round of the North Division 2 bracket.

Wakefield entered as the No. 10 seed with a record of 12-8 while Tewksbury hosted the game thanks to its 14-6 mark as the seventh seed.

Thanks to the win, both Tewksbury basketball teams will play this week in their respective quarterfinal round.

The girls team will play on Saturday at 7 p.m. on the road in Bedford while the boys advanced to their own quarterfinal after beating Arlington at home on Tuesday.
