Tewksbury Team Snags Eastern Travel League Championship
The locals took home the championship with a victory on Sunday in Salem.
College basketball's March Madness doesn't start until Thursday. But this weekend, Tewksbury completed a run of its own through a bracket of tough competitors on the court.
The Tewksbury 8C Green team outlasted Swampscott in a defensive battle on Sunday at Salem State to earn the Eastern Travel Leave 8th Grade Division championship.
The Green Team polished off the double-elimination tournament with a 28-26 victory to clinch the West Division crown. The win closed out a 12-day tournament that featured plenty of exciting finishes.
Eastern Travel basketball features a variety of divisions from fourth grade through eighth grade.
