Tewksbury Wrestler Heading to All-State Tournament

Broc Dokos will compete on Friday against the best in the state.

The Tewksbury Memorial High School wrestling team put together a strong showing at the Division 2 tournament last weekend. But one grappler is extending his season a bit longer than his teammates.

Broc Dokos earned a fourth place finish last week in the 182-pound weight class as the Redmen wrestled to 26th place out of 48 squads. Thanks to that finish, Dokos assured himself that his season isn't over quite yet.

On Friday and Saturday at Lowell's Tsongas Center, Dokos will take the mat during the all-state tournament that brings together the top wrestlers from throughout the state, regardless of division.

Entering the tournament, MAWrestling.com has Dokos ranked as the No. 10 wrestler in his weigh class in the state, and No. 4 in Division 2.

This season, Dokos racked up an impressive total of more than 30 wins. That brings his varsity total to more than 50 victories in his freshmen and sophomore campaigns.

Tewksbury's other two wrestlers who competed during last weekend's Division 2 meet were seniors Dan Donovan at 195 pounds and Nick Jansen at 220 pounds.
