Carl F. Pace

…retired from General Electric, Lynn; 78

TEWKSBURY – Carl Francis Pace, age 78, died Sunday evening, November 10, at Heritage Manor in Lowell, after a long period of declining health.

He was born in Boston on April 22, 1935, a son of the late William and Mildred (Dwyer) Pace, and lived in Tewksbury and North Billerica the greater part of his life.

During the Korean War Carl served in the U.S. Navy.

Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, he began his career as a welder at the former Boston Naval Ship Yard, he changed careers and retired as a machinist at the General Electric Aircraft Riverworks in Lynn.

Carl was a Communicant of St. Dorothy’s Church in Wilmington, and was a faithful member of the Tewksbury Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 4336 in Tewksbury, and a former member of the Tewksbury-Wilmington Elks Lodge 2070.

Carl will be remembered for his selfless concern for others, his ability to engage in endless conversation, broad knowledge, and his quick wit.  He will be dearly missed by his friends and family who understood him, and appreciated his love for humanity.

He leaves a daughter, Laureen Grant and her husband Elton Grant of Billerica; a son, Robert Pace and his wife Linda (St.Onge) Pace of Pelham, NH; a beloved grandson, Corey Pace and his wife Caitlyn of Pelham, NH; two adored great grandchildren, Ellie and Jack ; his siblings, Margaret “Peggy” Celata formerly of East Boston, now Wingate at Belvidere in Lowell, Mary Lou Allen and her husband David Allen of Ormand Beach, FL, Joseph Pace and his wife Nancy (Fiddler) Pace of No. Andover, M. Roberta Deputat and her husband John Deputat of Tewksbury, Kathleen Jasilewicz and her husband Michael Jasilewicz of Tewksbury; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carl was predeceased by his siblings, Robert Pace, killed in action in WWII, B. James Pace, William Pace, and Rose Marie Wallace; his grandson, Michael Pace; and his former wife Mary “Pinky” (Senna) Pace.

Visiting hours Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts.
