Cecilia J. Tallent

…formerly of Tewksbury, active in R.A.R.A.; 71

LOWELL - Mrs. Cecelia J. (Menard) Tallent, age 71, died peacefully Saturday morning, December 28, at Wingate at Belvidere in Lowell, following a long period of declining health.

She was born in Rumford, Maine, on January 23, 1942, one of three daughters of the late William and Clara (Arsenault) Menard.  She was raised in Waltham and Tewksbury, where she graduated from the Tewksbury Memorial High School with the Class of 1960.  She worked as a private care home-maker for several greater Boston home care agencies.

She was a communicant of St. William’s Church in Tewksbury, and along with her family, was very active in the formation and early growth and success of R.A.R.A., based in Lowell.

She was fondly remembered by her children for her patience, and kindness for everyone she met.

She leaves seven children, Rae Ann Tallent and her spouse Scott Burnett of Lowell, William E. Tallent, and Charles Tallent and his wife Shannon all of Carver, MA, Fred Tallent, and Raymond Tallent Jr. and his wife Patricia all of Plymouth, MA, Dawn Tallent of FL, and Cheryl Tallent of Iowa; twenty seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; her sisters, Patricia Menard of Georgetown, and Anna Menard of Wilmington; and many friends throughout the Merrimack Valley.

She was pre-deceased by her daughter Colleen Tallent, and son, Edward Tallent.

Relatives and friends will be received Thursday, January 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts.
