Carnation Belles Planning 8th Anniversary Dinner

Valentine's Dance is scheduled for Feb. 10.

DJ Jon Mansfield will be , January 30th, for an afternoon dance. One may still obtain a ticket at the door after 12:00 noon. However, lunch will not be available to those who purchase a ticket at the door.

The Friends and COA are looking for those special Tewksbury couples who have been married 50 or 50+ years but never been guests at a Senior Center Valentine Dance. If you are such a couple or know of one, please jot the information down on a piece of paper and drop it off or mail it to the Director at the Senior Center. The Valentine Dance will be held on Friday, February 10th. All names must be submitted by February 6nd.

Tickets are still available for the Mohegan Sun day trip of Monday, February 6th. The trip cost is $21 per person and includes a casino package and gratuities.

The next Upscale “Intake of Items” day will be held on Monday, February 6th from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Both the Upscale Boutique and the Snooti Patooti gift shop at the Senior Center are open Monday through Thursday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Why not stop in and check out the bargains.

Our AARP Volunteer Tax Assistants will begin helping Senior Citizens with their tax returns next month. To sign up for an appointment, one may drop by the Senior Center or call 978-640-4480 to place his/her name on the sign-up sheet at the front desk. The Director will then call those on the list to arrange an appointment time. Please note that the Tax Assistants DO NOT, however, help prepare Schedule C, Schedule E or complicated/lengthy Scheduled D forms or other specialized forms. Taxpayers with complex tax forms are advised to seek paid tax help.

The Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society will hold another “Catmobile Day” at the Tewksbury Senior Center parking lot on Wednesday, February 8th. This is a spay/neuter clinic for cats. They are running a special for female cats at $20 but one must mentions this special when calling to make an appointment. To arrange an appointment one may call 978-465-1940. Do not hesitate in calling for there is limited availability.

The “Edwards Twins” tickets for March 9th are still available at $30 per person but going fast. The Edwards Twins are celebrity impersonators direct from Las Vegas. They will be performing live at the Tewksbury Senior Center. This show is expected to be a sell-out so don't be shut-out...get your tickets early.

Lu Bonanno of Beacon Hospice will begin a “Dealing with Losses” group at the Senior Center on February 9th. This group will meet each week on Thursdays from 10:00 to 11:30 AM; and, will be dealing with losses due to death or change and transition. They will explore the phases of grief and loss in a safe and confidential environment. Registration is required. Please call Lu Bonanno at 978-372-4211 to register.

The Carnation Belles may want to mark their calendars for Sunday, February 19th. This is the date of the Belles 8th Anniversary dinner. Tickets and information will be available this Thursday.

Several Senior Center meetings were canceled last week. Please note the following new dates for the meetings: a receptionist Meeting on Friday, February 3rd at the Senior Center at 9:30 AM; a Snooti Patooti gift shop meeting on Friday, February 3rd at Chung King Rick's Cafe at 12:00 Noon; and, an activities meeting on Friday, February 17th at Chung King Rick's Cafe at 12:00 Noon.
