Congregational Church To Begin New Season Of Sunday School

Classes to begin Sunday, Sept. 11.

(Editor's note: The following information was submitted by the staff of the Tewksbury Congregational Church.)

Beginning on Sunday September 11th, TCC will begin its program year with tuition free classes for youth ages three through high school.  Classes run for approximately an hour and begin with a Biblical story and are followed by crafts, projects and lively activities.

For the junior and high school youth, has a vibrant and active Contemporary Youth Worship which is held Sunday mornings at 9:30 and has a large following.  This group plays active games and participates in activities that reinforce a weekly concept.

As a result of its quality Sunday morning programming, Tewksbury Congregational Church saw a large rise in Sunday morning youth participation last fall resulting in an average weekly attendance of approximately 80 youth.

Education of youth does not end in the classroom.  While many local schools have been forced to cut music budgets, at no cost to families, TCC continues to invest strongly in their music program. There are drama experiences for all ages, choral groups for youth beginning at age three, and instrumental music opportunities in which youth are taught to read sheet music for youth starting in third grade. Couple this with social programs for all ages and the results are stronger friendships and greater connections to other youth and their families in similar stages of life.

As always, enrollment in the Sunday School program is on-going and tuition free.  For parents with babies and toddlers, a nursery is staffed by a CORI’d adult volunteer and youth aides. All are welcome regardless of race, color, national origin, previous religious background, economic status, gender, age, sexual orientation, or physical challenges.  Adults are encouraged to attend worship which runs concurrently with the Sunday School program.

To begin the curriculum year, families are welcome to attend Rally Day.  Beginning at 9 am, coffee, juice, and Donna’s Donuts will be served which families are welcome to partake of while meeting the Sunday staff and finding out more about the program.  Registration will be held that morning but will continue to be on-going.  More information can be obtained by visiting Tewksburycc.org, e-mailing Sue Panilaitis at education.tewksburycc@verizon.net or calling the church office at 978-851-9411.
