Road Race Tops 5 Things To Do This Weekend

The first week of the summer brings several opportunities for family fun in Greater Tewksbury.

Where and When: Sunday, June 24, 10 a.m., TJ Automotive, 818 Main St., Tewksbury.

Why Go: The race is a 6.3K. Proceeds to benefit Friends of the Patriotic Activities Committee, which raises funds for the 4th of July Fireworks, the Memorial Day Parade and the Veterans Day service.

Pricing: The entry fee for the race is just $10. Kids run or walk free and there is a maximum cost of just $20 per family. And for an extra $5 you can get a race t-shirt.

Where and When: Saturday, June 23, 9:00AM - 12:00PM Grades K-4, 12:00PM - 3:00PM Grades 5-8, , 286 Livingston St, Tewksbury

Why Go: this program has really picked up speed and is a great way for kids in K-Grade 8 to spend time on a Saturday. Fun, friendship and physical activity.

Why Go: USA Boxing's Gary Bevis will discuss how individuals can become boxers and boxing officials. Gary Bevis is the Chief of Officials for the New England Association of USA Boxing.  The New England Association Association is the governing body of amateur boxing in the states of Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont under the authority of USA Boxing.

Where and When: Saturday, June 23, 10 a.m., 140 North St, North Reading

Why Go: This non-profit event donates funds/goods to Camp Starfish Scholarships, a therapeutic camp for kids with Autism and other differences, in Rindge, NH.  For many children, there is no other summer program available in New England. Camp Starfish provides a 1:1 staff-to-camper ratio at all times to enable success, build social skills, teach coping mechanisms, and help children who have difficulty finding success in traditional settings. We are a one-of-a-kind summer camp and year-round support

Pricing: $25 to ride. This includes a buffet dinner after the ride.

 

Where and When: Saturday, June 23, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., 107 N Main St, Westford

Why Go: Come to the 2nd Annual Children's Clothing Sale to benefit the St. Vincent de Paul Conference of St. Catherine's Church in Westford! Purchase gently-used, good quality clothing at bargain prices. Sale is open to EVERYONE. Proceeds of the sale will be used to assist those in need in our community.
