Young Resident Putts for a Cause

The Tewksbury Town Crier reported on Emily Cashell's recent fundraiser.

The Cashell family's trip the to the mini-golf course had an added benefit in addition to being a good way to spend a summer Sunday.

According to the Tewksbury Town Crier, it was also a great way to raise money.

In a recent story, the newspaper reported that Emily Cashell helped organize an all day mini-golf event as a way to raise money for the Jimmy Fund Boston Marathon Walk.

Emily's sister, Ashley, is in recovery after battling leukemia over the past three years, the newspaper reported. So to benefit the Jimmy Fund's Siblings Program that helped her over recent years, Emily and her parents organized the mini-golf event at the Merrimack Valley Pavilion.

Mark Cashell said told the Town Crier that the family is waiting for the final numbers, but that they've raised at least $2,200 so far.

"Doing these events, it's very tough," said Mark, according to the Town Crier. "I thought that it went very well for her first time."
