Shortly after moving to town I received a "Welcome to the neighborhood" card from Salon Karma good for a free haircut. When my usual stylist elsewhere was on vacation and I was a shaggy beast, I redeemed it.

Kelly gave me a really good trim and listened to my plan for growth. A month later my hair has grown out just fine and it still looks good.

Nice salon, good service!

I LOVE Salon Karma. I have been going there since it opened and have had nothing but great experiences there. I go to Jordan who is truly amazing and always makes me look better then I even expect to look. I have gone to a few of the other ladies there also. Karen is awesome for updo's and Ashley is fantastic at wash & dry's. I always have people I don't know asking me where I get my hair done and I tell the Salon Karma. And I always recommend Salon Karma to my family & friends and they end up with returning customers every time.

I love Salon Karma ... they are the Best in Merrimack Valley if you ask me. I drive from Chelmsford to get my hair done.

Salon Karma is so professional Santa comes down from the North Pole because the service is so awesome, doesn't get much better than that.

By far the BEST salon in Tewksbury. The staff is professional, knowledgable and I am always thrilled with my cut and color. New salons may come and go but this is one salon that has been fabulous for years. You can't find this level of expertise anywhere else in town!

I gave Karma a shot to try something new. I usually go to Supercuts. The stylist was awkward and didn't say 2 words to me after the initial question of how I wanted my hair cut. The haircut was underwhelming. The salon itself is a nice looking place. It may be just a bad apple ruining the bunch. Haven't returned since.

As I've mentioned multiple times now, this is a review. I'm entitled to my feelings whether suspicious to you or not. I shouldn't have to continue to explain myself to Noreen repeatedly. Again, I'll repeat myself in telling now YOU and HER that I'm happy you've found a great salon/stylist. Lord knows, I've been on the other end here. I haven't attacked Noreen in any way, in fact, I feel it's the exact opposite here. Since when do we need to defend our experiences and feelings? I'm not going to change my review because "I didn't do this" or "Why I didn't do that?. I'm being continuously bantered from my original review on why I didn't call, which I explained from step one that I did etc etc. This is ridiculous. I'm glad your experiences at the salon have been great and I wish I could say the same. This is my review and nothing more. Thank you.

Not impressed!! I brought the fam in for haircuts because I wanted to find a local spot. I will NEVER return. The hairdresser started with my son and didn't listen. She chopped and chopped and chopped off his gorgeous hair. When I say chopped, I mean Edward Scissorhands attack of the hair. It looks like he cut it himself. It's so badly uneven, EVERYBODY has made comments about it. I'd try and fix it myself, but some areas just can't be fixed. It's heartbreaking. My haircut didn't go much better. Again, she attacked. Maybe she thought this was some sort of art show? She grabs the hair and chops from every which angle vs running the hair through her fingers or comb for precision. It was bizarre to watch and even more bizarre to look at on my head. I called on a different day to see if she was a legit hairdresser, and was told yes. Luckily I have curl to my hair. It isn't as noticeable, but it's still drastic. Again, random people are asking what happened to my hair. It's one thing to go for a funky look or style, this does NOT fall into this category nor is it what I was going for. I specifically asked for a trim-angled so the front was a tad longer than the back (I just didn't want a straight bob). I don't even know how to describe what it looks like. I guess she just cut chunks here, there, and everywhere. It's awful. I've NEVER seen this on another human head. I also thought the staff was extremely unprofessional, but I don't care as long as you get a good cut.

Noreen, what is so baffling about poor service and bad hair cuts? I also ask why my review is suspicious? As I mentioned in my review, I wanted a simple cut. A straight line across the back of my hair with a small angle in the front. A monkey could do it. My son and I were in desperate need of cuts before an event. I honestly thought there was no way to screw up a straight line across my head. I never in a million years thought she'd go on a chopping spree all over my head. Neither my son nor myself have gotten a haircut since my review. It has taken that long for everything to even out so a normal cut could be made. I'm currently seeking another salon. I think it's great you love your stylist there. I may not have posted my review if I hadn't received so much negative feedback about the salon and our haircuts. How this is suspicious is beyond me.

As I explained in both reviews, I was getting a simple line cut. Just a straight cut. We were on a time crunch. A monkey could do it. I never thought it would get screwed up or to that magnitude. I also mentioned before that I did in fact call back to the salon to address the issues. I mentioned all of this in the original review. I mentioned it again in the second review. I don't think I need to continue to repeat and explain myself because you're suspicious nor do I need to defend myself for a simple review of a salon. You have your opinion and I have mine. That's why this is a "Review" section.

Great Salon and great article by Christine MacKenzie
Noreen, I completely agree with you. As a business owner myself, I too found Kristen's review "suspicious" as you put it for all the same reasons.
Kristen, No need to attack Noreen. She obviously loves her stylist at the salon. Hopefully someday you too will find someone who makes you as happy as Noreen and I are with Salon Karma

Kirsten,
the "suspicion" I find is...How could you sit and have your hair done after you clearly were not happy with the service you son received? I have been to many other salons and would never have placed myself in the chair if I wasn't happy with how they cut my child's hair. Did you inform the owner of your unhappiness with both of your cuts? I can't imagine the owner of this salon not addressing this issue. She is always so professional and engaging with all her clients. So Yes, I find it not only "baffling" and "suspicious" but also very "odd" that you had this experience. Honestly, when I first read this review I thought "she has got to be thinking of someplace else." So sorry, you had this experience but I still love Salon Karma and will continue to bring my family there. : )

This last review had me quite "baffled". I ask, If your child had a such a terrible experience in the chair, why would you then sit down to have your hair done??? I personally think this review is quite suspicious. I have NEVER seen any of the wonderfully experienced stylists at Salon Karma ever "butcher" someone's hair. They are NOT that type of salon. Now for my personal experience with Salon Karma.... I have been going to Salon Karma since it opened and have always been completely satisfied with their services. Lynn not only colors my hair, she also adds highlights to make it look so natural. My cuts are always perfect. Many friends now go to the salon because they love the way my hair looks. My kids and husband also have their hair done at the Salon. Jordan always gives the kids what they ask for from "faux hawks" to "spikey front with shaved sides" and they always look so nice. Jordan is also truly amazing at braiding. My daughter got a headband braid that was so beautiful and stayed in for 3 days while traveling. We also had my daughter's 7th birthday at the salon. Jordan and Ashley braided 17 girls' hair and entertained them at the same time...Lots of fun for all the girls. I have nothing but great things to say about this outstanding salon. Professional stylists, extremely clean premises and knowledgeable staff. I wouldn't trust anyone but them for my family's hair care needs!!!
