We don't need more lies in washington, we are dealing with a big liar now lie after lie!

We need to stop fighting rearguard actions, and call these attempts on our liberty for what theyRead More are; deliberately concocted "wedge" issues designed to bog down the debate in a morass of semantics over the nomenclature of firearms, "assault" this and "smart" that, "semiautomatic" versus whatever, etc. etc. The end game is civilian disarmament. Its proponents have for far too long been allowed to set the terms of the debate, establishing such language as "common sense," "gun violence" (as if edged-weapon violence, blunt-object violence or bare-hands violence is somehow "o-k"), and making people believe that they "don't want to take our guns," when that is exactly their intention. We need to confront this deceptive language with language of our own-the truth- and get it out there. When nationwide the ratio of [successful] defensive firearm use is on a ratio of roughly 60:1 to the criminal use of arms, and the violent crime rate nationwide has steadily decreased over the last 20+ years while gun ownership has skyrocketed, it should be abundantly clear: crime and violence is NOT the reason they want our guns. Any honest history of the modern world should tell the reader why they do.

If only more of the 49% of voters would read the history! They're not informed and therein lies theRead More problem.

Spoken by a true liberal, left-wing, extremist Democrat with all its arrogance and condescendingRead More attitude that we are all too familiar with. Yes...I agree that we will not see many Republicans elected to our state legislature but not for the reasons stated above but because of the political corruption, fraud, waste, and nepotism that the political left has gotten used to in this state! Let the insanity continue!
Shripathi Kamath April 11, 2014 at 02:17 pm
You tell 'em Myron! I just love the way you debunked his factoids with angry invective.
Myron Dittmer April 11, 2014 at 02:34 pm
Hey Shripathi, you get the government you vote for and you seem satisfied with the government youRead More are getting! In politics anytime you get a one-sided government......you are in big trouble! There are plenty of examples out there where this situation did not bode well for the governed.
There was low voter turnout in Tewksbury this year.
Rob R April 9, 2014 at 08:18 am
@Donna, the major reasons in my opinion why people are posting in opposition of you is because ofRead More your ridiculous ramblings. Sorry to hear about your mom and glad to hear she received the help she needed. I sincerely hope you find whatever it is you're looking for. TomH tried to help you at first but instead ended up like the rest of us receiving one of your less than kind responses. You need to show rather than just claim you're this kind, loving, caring, wonderful person you want us to believe you are. Now that the election is over let's focus on the future.
TomH April 9, 2014 at 09:35 am
Donna, good to hear that the Tewksbury Fire department was able to help you and your mom in such aRead More timely manner. It's time to move on from the elections and look to the future. Its time to care for our families and hope the Red Sox can resolve their pitching issues.....
Karin Theodoros Zaroulis April 13, 2014 at 07:40 pm
My opinion is that the Town elections should coincide with the state and national in the fall. TheRead More people who have remarked on how too many did not even know there WAS an election are 100% correct. The fact that the Town message board in the Town center is missing one side, and then dedicated only one of the other sides to the election hurt. The only side that was allocated to the issue was the weakest side and it was so super-overpacked with more info than needed that no driver could have read it. It was worthless from all sides. If there is an election, the entire board from all directions should be advertising that fact. I hope it gets replaced soon and I hope it gets replaced with a led four sided sign board. It's 2014, Let's get with it....
The results are in from Town Election.

Someone asked how many write-in votes there were. Believe it or not, there were a total of 124Read More write-in votes in all.

There were more write ins for BOS than for PB... :)

TomH April 8, 2014 at 09:35 pm
Rob, after tonights debacle do you think Doubront is going to have to conduct a write in campaign toRead More get voted MVP this year?
Rob R April 8, 2014 at 10:35 pm
Easy Tom, one debacle at a time.........I'm still trying to make sense of what Tewksbury justRead More endured.

vote no for coakheadly doing nothing about corrupt police and out dated civil service and fireRead More fighers that harass people and police that do nothing and chiefs that quit to then do more public work after wanting to retire.

Since you started this conversation 3more people have died of drug overdose, can we agree that WE THERead More PARENTS have to get the lawmakers to act fast to get to the drugs before they get to the children.
kalman berke March 22, 2014 at 11:07 am
Drug education is like any other act of careful living. Drugs are rational things. Humans use themRead More irrationally in many cases. So, yes , educate your children just as you do about how to not play in the street. But the type of thing that gets elections won is called hysteria and this guy is a witch hunter. We all know, most of us, that witches are not real and to spend millions looking for them is a waste. Drugs can be dangerous. Users are not criminals nor witches. Do not make using them a major crime or the main thing that government does. That is just an easy way to avoid real problems that effect us all on a daily basis, like BANKSTERS. The jails are full of drug users for no good end. There are no Banksters, who have stolen billions from all of us, in jail.

the attorney general signed off on a an illegal deal with corrupt trash company that cant pick upRead More trash on time and has problems with trucks and employees that are rude and opearate a facility with a building that should be condimend and the state is fining the city and company going back tiill now till its cleaned up and it should be shut down. they don't take in 30 tons a day but want a waste facility in a growing business area and residential area. the traffic and rats are bad now. they company is corrupt and the city officals are too with back door deals and close door meetings the people don't want a waste facility in salem. the trash contractor is a dinasour.
Donna Marie Robitaille April 1, 2014 at 11:35 am
The thing is that the voting is not about the moderator race when politics are in politics are inRead More play. Mary I assure you that there are safety nets in place by law that will not permit a three ring circus to ever happen. Everything about Town meeting decisions are approved by the Att.Generals offfice. There could never be a mishap to that magnitude by the moderator. Any person becoming a town official as Moderator for Town meeting would act accordingly. It would be unlawful not to.
Donna Marie Robitaille April 1, 2014 at 11:37 am
Yes Mary I know about the media slack. I think we could see positive changes if a committee wouldRead More like to form and speak to town manager.
Karyn April 1, 2014 at 01:24 pm
Donna said: "I can not recall Doug sears ever going back on his word or playing dirtyRead More politics." Clearly you don't know the man nor have had personal dealings with said person when you were not in his corner. He has burned a lot of bridges solely through his OWN doing. I agree 100% with Mary and Shelly.
Doug Sears is considering a run for Town Moderator.
Rob R February 9, 2014 at 10:10 am
I'm not concerned about hurt feelings from people who show no ability to acknowledge the good thatRead More someone does. I didn't vote for Scott but I'm not going to ignore the positive things he has done for this town. This town would benefit if more people acknowledged the good rather than act like it doesn't exist. Shelly, what's your point? I agree that's exactly what I wrote. Maybe you're diminishing yourself for not following along. Donna, I'm not including you in ignoring the good that has happened but disagree with you on your budget statement. I agree, no thank you is required for the entities involved who put forth a budget. It is their job. I just so happen to think our town is better off when good is also acknowledged. It's too easy to complain about everything while ignoring the good. That was the meaning for my, a thank you rather than an attack comment directed at someone not willing to accept his enemy had something to do with the positive response to an important issue directly impacting his department. Doug Sears and his fellow BOS are not perfect but they deserves credit where credit is do. If I'm ridiculous in thinking this, so be it......

Blue..Your fresh and should have your mouth washed out with soap. As for Bruce's ideas, I don'tRead More think he is running his campaign with your tone and people like you should be ignored but I am a candidate for Planning board so hear this. The idea to bring Biotech to this community is already something we have been doing. We are planning Board Friendly with our permit rules and approvals and we did this in recent years while waiting for better days in this horrible economy. Also we have built up an area designed to host large companies. We have created an environment of hotel and conference space available to them. I agree with candidate for Selectman Bruce to invite Biotech. Just as I want small business and light industry to have interest in the vacant storefronts buildings and property along Main Street. I Disagree with Bruce's idea to offer incentives. And speaking of the Ames Pond corridor.. Perhaps instead of a bad attitude, you could jump on board with that energy to give back the People of Tewksbury THEIR rights to AMES POND>
Patrick Shannon March 26, 2014 at 01:57 pm
Wow, Rob R sounds a lot like Doug. Doug knew he had no chance on re-election and chose to go theRead More easy route. I am glad to see someone jump in and will be happy to finally see him gone.
