Often, the Town Manager's office is where residents turn if they are dissatisfied with the performance of a municipal department. In July 2010, Richard Montuori was hired to serve as the Town Manager in Tewksbury.

The department features three stations, including substations on the north and south sides of the town and headquarters adjacent to Town Hall in the town center. With a roster of 50 firefighters and mission to keep residents safe, the department puts as much energy into fire prevention and awareness programs as it does into responding to emergencies.
