The AGM for TYSL will be held on: June 20th, 2013 @ Tewksbury Memorial HS café from 6:30 to 10:00 PM.

Track Teams Run, Throw to Strong Finish at MVC Meet

On Saturday the girls track team racked up 75 points and third place while the boys team came in sixth place.

Tewksbury High School left last weekend’s Merrimack Valley Conference meet with six individual league championship wins and a pair of strong team finishes, as the Redmen are finding their stride at the right time of year. Leading the way for the girls team was Chelsee Porcaro, who won first place in the discus and javelin throws. Jess Amedee ran to first place in the 100-meter hurdles and Kelly Quigley was first in the 400-meter hurdles. For the boys team, John Fiorello won the shot put while Eddie Matovu took first place at the 110-meter high hurdles. Tewksbury Boys, Girls Track Teams Claim MVC D2 Titles

Redmen squads destroy Lawrence to complete unbeaten league seasons.

Girls Track Tewksbury 111, Lawrence 27 The Tewksbury High girls track team won 13 of 15 events and rolled over Lawrence, 111-27. The victory clinched the MVC Division 2 championship for the Redmen and capped a perfect 4-0 league season. "We don't really place a ton of emphasis on our dual meet record, but to be able to come through this three-year period without having a track and post a 15-0 record over that time is a credit to all the kids and the parents and coaches in the program," said Head Coach John Byrnes. "We feel like we're stronger now than we were three years ago, and that's true on the boys' side as well." Run A Pleasant Mile/5K Results Are In

Tewksbury residents took the top six places in the 5k.

  It was a special year for the Run a Pleasant Mile/5k, one with record turnout and one with proceeds being donated to a special cause.  While proceeds from the race usually go to the Tewksbury Memorial High School senior scholarship fund, Coach Peter Molloy was approached by Coach Peter Fortunato and several seniors following the bombings at the Boston Marathon who wanted to do something for the victims and their families.  After consulting with the THMS Track and Cross Country Booster club, it was determined all the proceeds from the 2013 Run a Pleasant Mile would be donated to the One Fund, according to Molloy.  Following a record turnout, more than $4,000 was raised by TMHS Track and Cross Country and will be donated to the One Fund.
