UPDATED: Woman Injured In Hit-and-Run, Police Seek Green Sedan

Police search for driver involved in Tuesday night incident.

UPDATED -- March 21, 3:40 p.m. Tewksbury Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the car and driver involved in a hit-and-run accident Tuesday night (March 20) that left a young woman with serious injuries. According to Tewksbury Police, the accident took place near 550 Whipple Road at around 10:41 p.m. Officers responding to the call arrived at the scene and located the victim, described as a a 29-year-old woman, "lying in a grassy area by the intersection of Whipple Road and Farwood Drive." The victim was given immediate medical attention, and was then taken by ambulance to Saints Memorial Medical Center. A medical flight had originally been requested but was later cancelled. Neighborhood Flooded, Police Seek Driver After Accident [VIDEO]

Residents in one Tewksbury neighborhood got a bit soggy on Thursday (Dec. 29) after a water main ruptured. Several homes on Memorial Drive were without water for several hours following the break, which took place some time after 2 p.m. DPW crews were on the scene quickly and worked feverishly to repair the damaged and restore water flow. Much of Memorial Drive and several front yards were flooded. Resident Kelly Joyce submitted the attached video footage of the flooding in front of her home. 29-Year-Old Woman Seriously Injured In Rollover Crash

Victim was ejected from her vehicle.

A 29-year-old Lawrence woman suffered severe injuries after being involved in a single-car crash on Route 495 Saturday morning. According to a State Police, a 1998 Honda Accura rolled over at roughly 7:45 a.m. and came to rest in the median strip, just south of the Route 38 exit in Tewksbury. The victim, whose name has not been released, was ejected from the vehicle. According to scanner chatter, she sustained head trauma. _After emergency crews responded to the scene_, a medical helicopter was called in and the victim was flows to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. Car Accident Closes Section Of Main Street

Road closed since just after midnight.

A section of Main Street from Colonial Drive to Hinkley Road remains closed as the result of a motor vehicle accident. According to Tewksbury Police, the accident took place just after midnight near the interction of Colonial and Main. A vehicle struck a utility pole, bringing the pole down into the road. DPW and National Grid crews are on scene and the road is expected to be reopened by noon. Additional details on the accident itself were not immediately available.

UPDATED: Tewksbury Man Involved In Fatal Crash, Victim Identified

67-year-old woman pronounced dead at the scene.

UPDATED Wednesday, Nov. 16, 1 p.m. A Tewksbury man was involved in a fatal, head-on collision in Ayer early Tuesday (Nov. 15) morning. According to Ayer Police, the accident occurred on Littleton Road (Route 2A) at around 5:45 a.m. The crash involved a box-style delivery truck and a Toyota Prius. The driver of the Prius, identified as 67-year-old Claire Boudreau of Ayer, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was the sole occupant of the Prius, according to police. According to Ayer Police, the preliminary investigation into the cause of the crash shows that the delivery truck was travelling westbound on Littleton Road, crossed the center line and hit the Prius head-on. Man Seriously Injured In Fall From Roof

The following information was supplied by the Tewksbury Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A 49-year-old Burlington man was seriously injured, Thursday morning, when he fell from a roof, striking his head on the concrete pavement. The man, whose name was not released by Fire Department officials, was doing work on the roof at 95 Evergreen Road just before noon, when he fell approximately eight feet, according to the Police report. According to Fire Chief Hazel, the man sustained traumatic injuries to his head and legs. He was transported by ambulance to Lahey Clinic in Burlington, as LifeFlight was not flying at the time. Hazel said the man underwent surgery for his injuries, although he was not sure if that surgery took place at Lahey or at another medical facility. Power Outage Hits Tewksbury, Surrounding Towns

NSTAR working to restore service.

Thousands of NSTAR and National Grid power customers in multiple communities, including Tewksbury, experienced an outage this afternoon (Wednesday), as the result of an accident caused by NSTAR crews. Impacted towns include Woburn, Tewksbury, Reading, North Reading and Wilmington. Just after 2 p.m., Priscilla Gottwald, community relations manager for the Reading Municipal Light Department, released the following statement on the accident and the outages. "At approximately 12:46, while an NSTAR crew was working on a de-energerized transmission line in Woburn, a pole fell on another NSTAR transmission line causing a major outage.  RMLD residents and businesses in Wilmington, Reading, Lynnfield and North Reading fed by this NSTAR transmission…

Accident Sends One To Hospital, One To Jail

A Methuen man is facing drunk driving charges as the result of a two-car accident earlier this week. Charges of OUI-Liquor, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and failure to stop at a stop sign have been filed against Xit Thanh Nguyen, 49, 6 Celia Drive, Methuen. The accident took place Monday, around 9 p.m. at the intersection of South Street and Salem Road, long recognized as one of the most dangerous intersections in town. The driver of the second vehicle, whose name was not released by Tewksbury Police, was transported to Saints Medical Center in Lowell with non-life-threatening injuries. Man Struck and Killed By MBTA Commuter Train

Incident took place on tracks just off Woburn Street.

Tewksbury Police, along with MBTA officials, are investigating the death of man struck and killed by a commuter train Tuesday night. The incident took place just after 9 p.m. on the tracks just off 500 Woburn St. and temporarily shut down service on the MBTA's Lowell line. The MBTA sent a bus to transport passengers from train 341. MBTA Shuttle service transported passengers from Lowell to North Billerica while the tracks were shut down. The identity of the victim has not yet been determined and Tewksbury Police Chief Timothy Sheehan would not release details of the accident, except to say it was under investigation.

Elderly Driver Crashes into Building, Escapes Injury

Accident took place at Shawsheen Place Apartments.

An elderly driver escaped with just minor injuries on Wednesday when his car plowed into the entryway of an apartment building. According to a police police, the driver, whose name is not being released, "lost control of his vehicle" and drove it into the front of 1 Archstone Ave., one of the buildings in the Shawsheen Place complex, just off Main Street. The impact of the crash destroyed a glass double door entrance, as well as the door frames. The driver, described only as an elderly male, suffered minor injures and refused treatment. His car suffered significant damage and was towed from the scene. Police have not filed any charges in the case and have not specified what caused the man to lose control of his vehicle.
