Tewksbury Brownie Troop 65332 will host a blood drive to benefit Boston’s Children’s Hospital and the Jimmy Fund Clinic on Tuesday, May 14 at the Tewksbury Country Club from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Mark Cashell, father of Tewksbury brownie Ashley Cashell, said the blood drive is an opportunity to donate the critical resource of blood to two great local organizations, as well as for the brownies to learn about the importance of donating blood. "These young ladies are learning why blood drives are important and how blood works in their bodies," Cashell said. The Boston Marathon Bombings, which resulted in three deaths and nearly 300 injuries, have once again shined a spotlight on the serious need for blood donations in the Greater Boston Area. The map above shows blood drives going on in the region from May 1-7. In May, all presenting donors will receive a coupon for $25 off any auto service purchase of $50 or more from Sullivan Tire and Auto Repair.
