Looking to Read 'Fifty Shades Of Grey'? Get In Line

Demand for the erotic trilogy may be hotter than the books themselves.

It's affectionately being referred to as "Mommy Porn." The "Fifty Shades" trilogy, written by first-time author E.L. James has set the literary world abuzz and triggered a stampede of would-be readers to book stores, libraries and E-Book web sites. According to Tewksbury Public Library Director Dianne Giarusso, there is presently a waiting list of well over 600 people looking to get their hands on the "Fifty Shades" books through the regional library consortium to which the TPL belongs. Giarusso said her library has only been able to afford to purchase two copies of each book in the trilogy. Recently, such frenzies have been driven by teens and tweens for the "Harry Potter," Twilight." and "Hunger Games" series. The target audience for "…

Library Corner

The Most Powerful Card in Your Wallet!

Walking up those granite steps of the Carnegie built library, opening the towering doors, and then walking up another set of stairs where the front desk loomed in front of me, I knew I was entering a special place! There I could turn left and visit the children's area where there were books galore and a very cool stereoscope with historic scenes to view. I don't remember the title of my favorite library book, but it was about a little girl who wanted to be a nurse and she bothered everyone with her bandages and splints until someone got hurt for real, and she saved the …
