Golf team maintains momentum, swamps Lawrence for eighth win of the season.
Girls Soccer Tewksbury 2, Lowell 1 The Tewksbury High girls soccer team needed a lift and got it from their top players. The Redmen have been scuffling along in the early part of the season, unable to gather any real momentum. They may have turned the corner Tuesday with a gutsy 2-1 win over Lowell High at the Livingston Street fields. Nicole Chaet scored twice in the first six minutes of the game for Tewksbury, assisted both times by Kelly Quigley. But Lowell battled back, cutting the lead to 2-1 with a goal two minutes into the second half. The Raiders pressed the advantage and kept the Redmen back on their heels much of the last 10 minutes of the game. But Tewksbury keeper Rebecca Davies, backed by a solid defensive corps, held Lowell …

(Editor's note: The following information was provided by the coaches and administrators of the Tewksbury Youth Soccer League.) BOYS BU9-2 Tewksbury 2 Somerville 1 The TYSL Boys U9-2 team beat a tough Somerville team 2-1 to move to 5-2-1 for the season. James Ministeri had another first half shut out and Mihir Bagul played solid as well allowing just 1 goad which came with less than 3 minutes remaining in the game. Both goal tenders were helped by a continuation of season-long solid defense effort from Cole Duffett, Owen Griffin, Conor Moynihan, Justin Murphy, and Benny Svendsen. (Editor's note: The following information was submitted by coaches and administrators of the Tewksbury Youth Soccer League.) BU13-1 Tewksbury 7 Burlington 0 The Tewksbury BU13-1 team beat Burlington 7-0 this Saturday. From the opening the Redmen pressed the play into the Burlington side. They moved well as a team and left little space for the opponents to move the ball. The back line stopped Burlington early in their attacks and pushed the ball quickly up-field. Five minutes in, a steal and then a long pass from Eric Gallant went down the sidelines to Ameen Kalkhoran who took it down the right side and scored from just outside the box. Tewksbury had the speed and aggressive style to keep the play out of our goal area. The boys were …

Volleyball team moves one win closer to MVC Div. 2 crown; boys soccer falls to Methuen, 3-2.
Tewksbury High volleyball coach Jim Ray breathed a huge sigh of relief around 6:30 Friday evening. Haverhill High had come to town on a mission to upset the Redmen and qualify for the state tournament, and Ray feared that his team, which had qualfied for MIAA post-season play on Wednesday, was due for a letdown. Ray's fears were unfounded. The red hot TMHS volleyballers came out blazing in all three sets, building big leads early on and coasting to a 3-0 win over the Hillies that improves Tewksbury's record to 10-4 on the year. "They (Haverhiill) really took it to Notre Dame in their last game and I was worried they would do the same to us," Ray said. "They still had a chance to make the state tournament if they beat us. "I expected them …
