A family member doing yard work discovered a break-in and the theft of an automobile from the home of his deceased uncle. A man called Tewksbury Police at 2:33 Monday afternoon (July 16) to report the alleged theft. He said that his uncle, who had lived in a home on Andover Street, had passed away about a year earlier. The caller said that another of the man's nephews had been given permission to live in the Andover Street home but that he had been asked to leave the residence three weeks ago. Since then, said the caller, the home had been broken into and a car had been disappeared. Tewksbury Police filed a report and put the car into the system as a stolen vehicle. Vehicle thefts plagued Stadium Plaza, 10 Main St., over the last week. It's not immediately known if the thefts are merely coincidence or are connected. On Tuesday, May 22, at around 3:30 p.m., a car was reported stolen from the parking lot at the plaza and four women had to be given courtesy transport. On Thursday, May 24, at 10:19 p.m., a 911 caller reported that their car had been stolen from the Stadium Plaza parking lot near the CVS. A Tewksbury Police officer was sent to the scene and a report was filed. While that officer was on the scene, he reported finding a possible stolen car that may have been dumped in the lot.
