Holy Felines, Batman, It's The Catmobile!

Red Hat Carnation Belles plan a Pajama Party.

The Senior Center will be closed next Monday, January 16th, in recognition of Martin Luther, Jr. Day. A memorable and safe holiday is wished to all. Tickets for the Mohegan Sun trip of February 6th will go on sale at 8:15 AM next Tuesday, January 17th at 8:15 AM. The Red Hat Carnation Belles will hold a “PJ's, Pizza, and Popcorn” night at the Senior Center on Wednesday, January 18th. Tickets ($5 per Belle) should be purchased ASAP. Belles should note  that this is NOT a “sleep-over”. However, it should prove to be a fun-filled Red Hat evening and movie night. Information and tickets will soon be available for the up-coming Carnation Belles Anniversary Dinner being held on Sunday, February 19th. The Silver Tones Band will hold its monthly …

POLL: Would You Welcome Casino Gambling To Tewksbury?

It generates tax revenue, to be sure, but is it worth it?

Recently, the Foxboro Board of of Selectmen voted, 3-2, against a proposal to allow construction of a resort casino in their community. Admittedly, such a project would generate millions of dollars in tax revenue each year, helping to lower residential property tax rates. Supporters of casino gambling also say such projects boost other avenues of the local economy and generate local job growth. Opponents in Foxboro argued that the increased tax revenue is moree than offset by increases in crime, addictive activities and overall changing the nature of the community. So our poll question this week asks if a resort casino would be welcomed in Tewksbury.

A Casino in Tewksbury is a terrible problem that we can live better without. One mans freedom is another mans down fall. Can we protect people from themselves, probably not. We can work with them though. Casino's are not going to solve our problems they will only add to them. April Promises to Be a Busy Month at the Senior Center

Elections, Doo-Wop and Cootie Parties.

Residents are reminded that Town Elections will be held this Saturday, April 2, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Departure time for the Mohegan Sun day trip of next Monday, April 4th is 7:00 AM. Tickets are still available. If interested please obtain a ticket by this Thursday, March 28th. Next Monday, April 4th is “Intake Day” for the Upscale Consignment Shop. Spring articles are now being accepted. Intake takes place from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Please note that the shop is no longer accepting winter clothing. Red Hatters are reminded that April 6th is the last day to get tickets for the Amesbury Playhouse day trip of April 17th.
