Charles W. “Charlie” Ryan, age 84, died peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, January 8, at the Laconia Rehabilitation Center in Laconia, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of the late Joan (Consavage) Ryan, and later, the late Joan (Grogan) Ryan. Charlie was born in Boston on August 16, 1928, a son of the late Charles and Frances (Maze) Ryan, and was raised in Wilmington. He graduated from Wilmington High School. During the Korean War, he enlisted into the U.S. Army, and served his tour of duty in Korea. Upon discharge and marriage, he settled in Tewksbury.
