Groundbreaking For New High School Will Be Oct. 27

General Contractor bids delayed a week due to challenge.

The official ground breaking ceremony for the new $82 million high school will be Wednesday, Oct. 27 at 10 a.m. The High School Building Committee approved that date at its meeting Thursday, despite a hiccup in the general contracting bid process that resulted in a one-week delay in opening the bids. State Treasurer Tim Cahill, an independent candidate for governor, will attend the groundbreaking and committee members said they wouldn't be surprised if other candidates for local and statewide office tried to use the occasion to do some campaigning.
