Several Domestic Assault Arrests Over Super Bowl Weekend

The following information was supplied by the Tewksbury Police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

National statistics indicate that, for a variety of reasons, Super Bowl weekend has the highest rate for domestic violence in the United States. Such was the case this past weekend as Tewksbury Police made several arrests for domestic assault and battery. Additional arrests: John R. Griffin, 23, 7 Woodside Ave., Wilmington, was arrested on Feb. 4 and charged with larceny of a motor vehicle. Vincent M. Querci, 18, Wilmington, was arrested on Feb. 2 and charged with larceny of a motor vehicle. Brock A. Friedman, 35, 2 Newton Ave., Tewksbury, was arrested on Feb. 3 and chaged with Possession of a Class A Drug and Possession of a Class B Drug. Christine M. Gikonyo, 39, of 95 Andrews St., Lowell, was arrested on Feb. 2and charged with false …

Alleged Peeping Tom, Domestic Assault Top Police Log

A concerned neighbor alerted a Pupkis Road woman to a potential danger lurking just outside one of her windows. Tewksbury Police received a call from the woman on Wednesday, Jan. 30 at 9:53 p.m. She told them her neighbor had just called and told her there was a man standing near her home just outside one of her windows. According to the police report, the caller said that when the man saw her neighbor looking at him, he started walking into the woods into the direction of Cherry Road. Dispatch sent three units to the scene to check the area. A short time later, an officer spotted the suspect on Hemlock Road. After an investigation he was arrested. Shawn T. Alleged Thief Leaves Bike Behind During Escape

An alleged shoplifter may have escaped with some items from Wal-Mart but he also left something behind. According to Tewksbury Police, dispatch was called by the Loss Prevention Department at Walmart on Tuesday, Jan. 15 at around 6:30 p.m. to report a shoplifter who had just left the store. The caller reported that the alleged thief headed off toward the woods. But before he escaped into the trees, he left his bike behind at a fence. An officer recovered the suspect's getaway bike and brought it back to police headquarters. Arrests: Brenda Delucia, 42, 44 Michigan Road, Tewksbury, was arrested on Jan. 14 and charged with domestic assault and battery. The charges are out of Concord, Mass. Police Forced To Use TASER On Assault Suspect

A woman suspected of assault resisted arrest in such an aggressive manner that Tewksbury Police officers were forced to use a TASER to subdue her. The call came in just after 9 p.m. on Dec. 18. A male caller reported that he had just been assaulted in an apartment on Main Street. Officers responded to the scene and after a brief investigation, attempted to arrest Janice M. Lombardi, 52, 1830 Main St., Apt. 18. According to the police report, Lombardi resisted arrest in such a manner that officers had to administer "2 applications dry stun, 1 taser." Domestic Assault Arrests Top Latest Tewksbury Police Log

Tewksbury Police responded to multiple reports of assaults and domestic assaults this week. Gerard A Cardarelli, 41, 5109 Archstone Ave., Tewksbury, was arrested on Wednesday, Nov. 28, and charged with domestic assault and battery. Cardarelli was arraigned in Lowell District Court and held on $1,000 cash bail, according to an article appearing in the Lowell Sun. According to prosecutors, the complaint was filed by a 12-year-old girl who lives with Cardaelli and his girlfriend. The girl told police that Cardarelli and his girlfriend both hit her with coathangers and that Cardarelli slammed her head against a wall, according to the Sun article. Domestic Assault, Uncontrollable Cough Top Police Log

On Sunday morning (Sept. 30), just after 11 a.m., Tewksbury Police received a 911 call from an Ames Hill Drive resident, reporting that their adult daughter was suffering with an uncontrollable cough. The caller also said their daughter was exhibiting troubling behavior and suggested that she might need hospitalization. Officers responded to the scene and found the young woman to be combative. She was ultimately subdued and placed under arrest. Shekinah Bishop-Sullivan, 24, 1417 Ames Hill Drive was charged with disturbing the peace, threatening to commit a crime and resisting arrest, as well as five outstanding warrants. SWAT Vehicle Allegedly Involved In Accident After Standoff

The action apparently did not completely stop after law enforcement arrested a shooting suspect, holed up at the Motel 6 Sunday night, Sept. 2. Around 7:30 p.m., Andover State Police reported that a driver said he had been sideswiped on I-93 by an extended blue van driven by a law enforcement officer. According to the driver that was struck, the other driver got out of his vehicle and told him he was going to send him a ticket. According to the report, Deputy Chief John Voto spoke with a representative from SWAT, who was able to identify the officer involved. According to the repot, SWAT will be taking care of the incident. Jilted Boyfriend Charged With Breaking and Entering, Assault

Suspect allegedly sent threatening text messages to victims.

A 37-year-old Malden man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly breaking into a Tewksbury home and assaulting one of the residents early Sunday morning. Brian Driscoll, of 58 Myrtle St., Malden, is charged with breaking and entering in the nighttime with the intent to commit a felony, assault and battery and driving with a suspended license. According to information provided by Tewksbury Police, it's a case of jealously, in the wake of a romantic relationship gone bad. The incident began around 2 a.m. on Sunday, July 1 with a 911 call from a man at 20 Sycamore Drive, reporting a breaking and entering in progress. Attempted Murder Charge, Another Dog Attack Highlight Police Log

A Tewksbury teen is facing charges of attempted murder after a domestic disturbance at the Motel Caswell Wednesday night. According to a Tewksbury police report, a 911 call reported an argument in one of the motel rooms. Officers responded to the scene and after talking to the alleged victim and conducting an investigation, they arrested Jonathan Patrick Whitcomb, 18, 14 Pond View Lane, Tewksbury. Whitcomb is charged with attempted murder and assault and battery. No further details on the charger are available at this time. Tewksbury Man Charged With Assaulting Elderly Family Member

A Tewksbury man faces felony assault charges after allegedly injuring a family member during a domestic dispute Sunday afternoon (April 29). Tewksbury Police received a call just after 4:30 p.m. Sunday from a woman who said that a family member had shoved her out of the way and pushed his way into their home. She told police she wanted the man removed. A short time later, she called back and said the man had left and described the car he was driving. Officers responded to the scene and discovered the woman had suffered minor injuries. Another officer located and pulled over the car and, after a brief struggle, placed the driver under arrest.
