PHOTOS: Good Friday At Assembly Of God Church

Church members reach out to motorists to share the meaning of the crucifixion of Christ.

Dozens of members of the Lowell Assembly of God lined Andover Street on April 6 to share the story and the meaning behind the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Many held signs with messages like "Hope", "Healing", and "He Died For Us." Behind them were erected three crosses. According to the New Testament, Jesus was crucified along with two thieves. One on his right and the other on his left. Four church volunteers took turns portraying Jesus on the middle cross. This is the second year the church has engaged in the Easter evangelistic outreach, aimed at getting people to think about the true meaning of the season. Editor Bill Gilman was on hand and captured these images.
