Elizabeth L. “Betty Lou” (O’Neill) Johnson, age 70, a member of a well known Tewksbury family, died Monday, January 14, at The Lowell General Hospital, after a courageous three year battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of William E. “Bill” Johnson, with whom she had celebrated a 46th wedding anniversary this past May 29th. Betty Lou was born in Lowell, April 8, 1942, one of six children of the late Richard F. O’Neill Sr. and Loretta (Manley) O’Neill. She was a lifelong resident of Tewksbury and a member of Tewksbury High School’s Class of 1960. She began her career as a clerk at the Middlesex Superior Court, Registry of Deeds, in Lowell, and joined the staff in the Tax Collector - Treasurer’s Office for the Town of Tewksbury. She …
