PHOTOS: Fundraiser Golf Ball Drop Held For T.H.E. Farm

Volunteer wins 1st prize in unique event.

A golfball drop fundraiser was held at T.H.E. Farm Saturday morning. Numbered golf balls were sold and dropped from a helicopter owned and flown by Tewksbury Country Club owner Marc Ginsburg. The ball closest to the hole is declared the winner. This year, two balls landed in the hole. One of the first place winners, Les Nelson, is a T.H.E. Farm volunteer.

Fashion Show To Benefit Meghan McCarthy Research Fund

Tewksbury High DECA chapter to host 12th annual event on Nov. 17.

On Thursday, Nov.17, Tewksbury Memorial High School’s DECA program will be hosting an annual fashion show to benefit the Meghan McCarthy Research Fund. The event is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the Tewksbury Memorial High Auditorium. This fund was established following the passing of Tewksbury’s Meghan McCarthy. She was born on August 17, 1992 and was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme, a type of brain cancer, on June 3, 2007 at the tender age of 14. Meghan never let her disease sideline her, taking part in every activity that she enjoyed including field hockey, track, basketball and DECA. DECA is a group of business and …

TMHS students flex their minds for fun and glory.

Tewksbury High students gathered recently at the Tewksbury Country Club for the annual Student Trivia night, en event in which students flexed their mental muscles for fun and, most importantly, bragging rights. This event is a fundraiser for all the class councils at TMHS and money raised is split between the four classes. The classes raise money to offset the cost of Senior Week activities. The winning team consisted of Brendan Blair, Dan MacNeil, Derek Sabbag, Sean Foley, Jared Doherty, Matt Rauseo, Joe Camillo, Mark Daley and Mrs. Eldringhoff. PHOTOS: Krochmal Farms Cares For Kids Fundraiser

The weather was perfect and the cause was excellent, as money was raised for the families of two children battling cancer.

Hundreds of volunteers and guests gathered at Krochmal Farms last weekend for the third annual Krochmal Cares for Kids Fundraiser. Proceeds from this year's event went to the families of Isabelle Marciello, 11, and Nicholas DeFelice, 8. Editor Bill Gilman was on hand and captured these images.

TGBL Annual Raffle is in Full Swing

Buy A Brick And Be Part Of Tewksbury High History

Fundraiser will raise money for the Class of 2012 Council.

The Senior Class Council at Tewksbury Memorial High School is running a "Buy-A-Brick" Fundraiser to reduce the costs of senior year. The bricks, which cost $50 each, will be laid in a walkway leading to the new high school. Details regarding the fundraiser can be found on the attached flyer.

Organizers are looking to help families with children battling life-threatening illnesses.

To The Editor: Krochmal Farms in Tewksbury is honored to announce its THIRD ANNUAL FUNDRAISER TO BENEFIT CHILDREN WITH LIFE THREATENING ILLNESSES to be held on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011 from 11 am to 3 pm (rain date of Nov 6, 2011 from 11 am to 3 pm). Welch Willing To Swim The Extra Mile for Dana Farber

Dave Welch has almost always been passionate about swimming.  For Dave, being able to swim and at the same time help raise money for cancer research at The Dana Farber Cancer Institute, well that is a dream come true. Having grown up near the ocean, this longtime Tewksbury resident has always loved to swim but it was about 20 years ago when that love of the sport truly became his passion.  A member of the Andover / North Andover Masters Swim Team Dave had heard about the Swim Across America  event for several years before deciding it was time to take part. “In 2008 I decided to do it,” explained Welch. “And after my first event I was kicking myself for not doing it sooner.” This year Welch plans to swim the Nantasket Beach Open Water Swim …
