Softball team loses a heartbreaker to Concord-Carlisle.
Softball Concord-Carlisle 2, Tewksbury 1 In a battle between top softball teams, one swing of the bat can often make the difference. Such was the case in Concord-Carlisle's 2-1 win over Tewksbury. The Redmen held a 1-0 lead entering the fifth inning, with Shannon McLaughlin locked in a duel with CC's Galen Kerr. But the Patriots turned the tables in the fifth on a two-run triple by Angela DeBruzzi. The Redmen managed five hits against Kerr but couldn't get the tying run. Tiffanie Marsh scored Tewksbury's lone run. Girls Tennis Central Catholic 4, Tewksbury 1 Kylie Sedgwick, playing her first match as No. 1 singles, scored the lone victory for the Redmen. Tennis team trimmed by Pentucket, while the baseball team is slammed by North Andover.
The best season in the history of the Tewksbury High tennis program came to an end on Monday but not without the Redmen putting up a fight. Pentucket Regional advanced in the Division 2 North tournament with a 3-2 win over Tewksbury, in a match that had to be moved indoors to the Woburn Racquet Club because of the poor weather. Tewksbury swept both doubles contests. At No. 1 doubles, Lindsey McQuesten and Jordyn LeBlanc played very well and won 6-1, 2-6, 10-8 (match tie break). The duo finished an outstanding season at 13-5, and were named to the MVC All Conference Team. The Tewksbury High girls tennis team traveled to Newburyport on Thursday and came away with a 4-1 victory. With the win, the Redmen improved to 8-4 on the season. In singles, April McDermott lost a hard fought battle between two evenly matched players, 7-5, 6-2. Alyssa Mulno won in straight sets in a well played match, 7-5, 6-2. Kylie Sedgwick played one of her strongest matches of the season, winning 6-4, 6-3. In doubles Lindsey McQuesten and Jordyn LeBlanc played a strong match and won in straight sets, 7-5, 6-1. Natasha Kuegler and Nicole McColgan won a very closely contested match 7-6 (0) 7-6 (2).

Wilmington girls tennis team narrowly defeats Tewksbury, 3-2, on Tuesday.
The Wilmington girls tennis team squeezed out a 3-2 win over Tewksbury on Tuesday. Though Alyssa Mylno was victorious at No. 1 singles and April McDermott snagged a 6-0, 6-1, win at No. 2 singles, it was not enough for Tewksbury against its border rivals. Wilmington won at No. 3 singles to clinch the match after the Wildcats gained momentum with victories in both doubles slots.
