Golf team maintains momentum, swamps Lawrence for eighth win of the season.

Girls Soccer Tewksbury 2, Lowell 1 The Tewksbury High girls soccer team needed a lift and got it from their top players. The Redmen have been scuffling along in the early part of the season, unable to gather any real momentum. They may have turned the corner Tuesday with a gutsy 2-1 win over Lowell High at the Livingston Street fields. Nicole Chaet scored twice in the first six minutes of the game for Tewksbury, assisted both times by Kelly Quigley. But Lowell battled back, cutting the lead to 2-1 with a goal two minutes into the second half. The Raiders pressed the advantage and kept the Redmen back on their heels much of the last 10 minutes of the game. But Tewksbury keeper Rebecca Davies, backed by a solid defensive corps, held Lowell …

A long range birdie putt from off the green for Brown put Slavin 2 down and he went on to win the match on the seventh hole. "Tyler's a great kid who is a really good golfer and works tremendously hard at it and has just been snake bitten lately against some very good players. He will bounce back and be back where he usually is." Number 2 Jeff Giasullo has been playing very good for us lately and he continued that excellent play again today …

Redmen Roundup: Ryan Helps Field Hockey Gain Tie, Golf Team Falls

Tewksbury High sports roundup.

The Tewksbury High field hockey team was dominated in every facet of its game against North Andover ... except the scoreboard. Thanks to a brilliant 17-save effort by goalie Riley Ryan, the Redmen were able to salvage a 0-0 tie. Tewksbury was never able to muster an offensive attack, failing to put a shot on goal or even take a penalty corner. Hayley Sutherland, Taylor Lirakis, Nicole DePierro and Abby Donaghue played well defensively for the Redmen, who are now 0-0-2 on the young season. Golf Billerica 19.5, Tewksbury 0.5 Anyone who has played the game of gold knows that sometimes you get the bear and sometimes the bear gets you. Redmen Daily Roundup: Golf, Field Hockey Suffer Chelmsford Double-Dip

Field Hockey loses at Chelmsford, 3-1; golfers fall to Lions 13.5-6.5

Tewksbury High sent its field hockey and golf teams to Chelmsford on Monday, and both teams came home empty handed. In the field hockey match, Senior midfielder Sheri Liggiero scored Tewksbury's only goal as TMHS saw its five-game unbeaten streak come to an end at the hands of the Lions, who are in a neck-and-neck battle with Andover for first place in the Merrimack Valley Conference. All the scoring took place in the second half as Chelmsford took a 1-0 lead midway through the half and Liggiero answered less than two minutes later. "My two captains (Liggiero and Sarah Hogan) really got ticked when they scored," Tewksbury coach Pat Ryser said. "Sheri just flew down the field and scored on a rocket shot to tie it up." But the Redmen could …

Redmen Daily Sports Roundup: Sweet Revenge For TMHS Volleyball

Tewksbury tops Notre Dame Academy, golf team bounces back and girls soccer team loses at Amesbury.

They say revenge is a dish best served cold, but if you ask the Tewksbury High girls volleyball team, revenge is a dish best served right in the other guy's kitchen. After blowing a two set lead in their own home gym and losing to Notre Dame Academy, 3-2 back on Sept. 9, the Tewksbury girls traveled to Tyngsboro in a downpour Friday evening determined to even the score, in spite of having to play in NDA's crowded, noisy band-box of a gymnasium. But on this night, neither rain nor noise nor obnoxious vuvuzelas could deter the Redmen from the swift completion of their appointed task, and coach Jim Ray's charges erased last month's bad memories with a convincing, 3-0 win over NDA. "That first loss to them definitely hurt," Ray said. "It was …
