VIDEO: Christmas On Rockvale Road

By decking their homes in lights and decorations, the residents of Rockvale Road provide a Christmas gift each year to the residents of Tewksbury.

(Editor's note: This video was first published on Dec. 23, 2011.) Sure, there is THAT house. But Christmas on Rockvale Road is an event that goes well beyond just one residence. Nearly all of the homeowners on Rockvale (located off Shawsheen Street) participate by trimmed their homes and yards in tens of thousands of lihts and dozens of decorations and props, turning Rockvale Road into a Christmas Village. Editor Bill Gilman stopped by this week and offers this video tour.

...instead... Leave out all of the brown sugar. In its place use a sprinkle of cinnamon & nutmeg, (optionally add allspice as well if you like that). If you're up for something spicy, replace the vanilla with cayenne. Feel free to keep the real butter (it's not very much when divided among the family), but use it in the first 1/2 of the recipe instead of margarine which usually has trans-fat. …   more ›

'Grinch' Steals Decorations From Heath Brook

Giant figures taken from front lawn.

It seems like with every holiday season, there is a 'Grinch' lurking around to try and steal the joy that comes with it. Principal Rosamond Dorrance confirmed that a thief or thieves stole two giant decorations from the front lawn of the Heath Brook School some time over the weekend. We have decorations all over the school," said Dorrance. "It's disappointing that they would target an elementary school." Heath Brook serves children in Grades K-2. According to Dorrance, each of the figures was around five-feet tall. She believes someone stopped at the school …
