A pair of Tewksbury teens are facing multiple felony charges after allegedly forcing their way into a Catamount Road home an assaulting one of the residents with a hammer and a metal crowbar. Alex Smith, 18, of 91 Germano Drive, and Ray Tremlett, 18, of 3 Tomahawk Drive, were arrested Friday (Oct. 28) and charged with armed home invasion, kidnapping, assault & battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault with intent to rob. Men charged in home invasion admit targeting victim.
Two brothers, among three men arrested over the weekend in connection with a brutal armed robbery last week, confessed to their roles in the crime but told police they were did it to protect their younger brother. Brandon Dorrington, 24, of Lynn and Jared Dorrington, 18, of Chelmsford, along with Brady Yanosick, 18, of Billerica, were arraigned in Lowell District Court on Monday, charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and battery, kidnapping, conspiracy and assault with intent to rob. Prosecutors allege the trio restrained and severely beat 22-year-old Kyle Perrin in a room at Motel 6. Victim beaten, $20,000 stolen in Motel 6 Incident
Three men are in custody facing multiple felony charges, after a brutal armed robbery/home invasion on Thursday. Homeowner calls police after coming face to face with man in her home.
UPDATED 6:30 p.m. Face-to-face with an unwanted visitor in her home, a John Street resident didn't panic, she called 911. As a result, a string of burglaries spanning at least two communities may have been solved. Tewksbury Police arrested Edward James Flynn, 48, of Lowell, shortly after he broke into a home at 161 John Street at around 9:30 a.m. Monday. Officers responded to a 911 call from the homeowner, who gave a detailed description of the man, standing in her home. According to the police report, he was described as being in his 40s, 5-11, wearing eye glasses, a blue baseball cap, a flannel shirt and dungarees. For second time in three days, Wilmington incident leads to air search.
Massachusetts State Police used ground and air units to search for a suspect after an incident in Wilmington for the second time in just three days. According to the state police press office, a suspect involved in a Wilmington home invasion at about 10 a.m. Monday morning fled in a gray Audi. Wilmington Police said a former resident went to a Carolyn Road home to check on their parents' house, entered through the side door and saw an older white male carrying a pillow case. Police said the suspect originally fled on foot behind the house but then returned to the Audi and sped off. UPDATED 12 p.m. State Police are combing the area by land and air, search for a suspect in a home invasion that took place in Wilmington this morning. Originally, State Police reported that the crime had taken place in Tewksbury. However, they corrected themselves and now say it took place on the Wilmington side of the town line. According to information provided by the State Police press office, the suspect is believed to have fled the scene of the home invasion in a vehicle, then dumped the vehicle in Lowell and fled on foot. According to the press office, State Police have identified the suspect, who is known to police. His name is not being released at this time.
