The children's room at the library hosted a night of storytelling in pajamas.
Ms. Amy at the Tewksbury Public Library told stories and entertained a crowd of pajama-donning kids Wednesday evening, as Pajamarama ran wild. The programs at the children's room are great family activities where the kids are encouraged to read, learn, and have fun. Children have the chance to get a head start of Halloween during the annual Krochmal Farms Pumpkin Festival.
This year's Krochmal Farms Safe Trick or Treat has been a huge success. The attendance has been outstanding, according to a farm spokesperson. A great addition to the events was a handicap lift installed on one of the hay ride wagons. Some children got to experience a hay ride meeting Elmo, Arthur, Pooh Bear, Tigger, Dorothy and the Scarecrow, Mickey and Minnie for the first time in their lives. There is a corn maze, pumpkin picking in the patch, face painting, pumpkin painting and even a petting zoo. Photographer Maggie Judd was on hand and captured these images.

Tewksbury commemorates the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001.
Sunday at the Tewksbury 9-11 Memorial next to the library, Tewksbury residents turned out to remember those we lost ten years ago. Those in attendance heard a touching speech by annual speaker Larissa Gay whose father Peter Gay was one of the Tewksbury resident who was killed in the events of 9/11. The fire and police departments commemorated the 10 year anniversary with a reading of the names of the 93 Massachusetts residents who were lost. Also present at the ceremony was a recent addition to the memorial, a four foot floor joist from the World Trade towers suspended from the ceiling of the memorial.

Thousands of Tewksbury residents were left without power for much of Sunday as Tropical Storm Irene rolled across New England.
Though downgraded to a Tropical Storm, Irene made her presence felt in Tewksbury in Sunday. Thousands were left without power and several roads were closed because of downed trees and wires. Here are just a few of the images from a wild weather day.
The weather was perfect on Friday for one of the biggest TYSA fundraising events of the year.
Tewksbury Country Club played host to the 8th Annual Tewksbury Youth Skating Association Golf Tournament. The event serves as a major fundraiser for the TYSA, riasing several thousand dollars a year. The weather was just perfect on Friday, as dozens of golfers hit the links.

Blood collected will help more than 200 children.
A blood drive organized by Mark Cashell was held Thursday at the Tewksbury Country Club for the Jimmy Fund Clinic and Children's Hospital. The drive was a huge success, with seventy-eight people participating in the drive and fifty seven pints of blood collected. The drive was held in honor of Lyndsey Pettengill and Cashell's daughter Ashley Cashell, both students at the Heath Brook Elementary School. The blood will help children like Ashley and Lyndsey who benefit from blood tranfusions at the Jimmy Fund Clinic and Children's Hospital. The amount of blood collected at the drive should be enough to help 228 children. The families and young patients are grateful for the large turnout and everyone who donated.
