Traffic Stop Leads to Trafficking Arrest

The following information was supplied by the Tewksbury Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Obeying the speed limit is a good idea -- especially if you're carrying a substantial amount of drugs and you're already wanted on outstanding charges. Tewksbury Police pulled over Joseph Szulewski, 22, of 700 Merrimack St, Apt 2R, Lowell, at around 3 a.m. Tuesday morning (Dec. 4) or speeding. But  Szulewski didn't walk away with just a ticket. When the officer has Szulewski's name run through the computer, it was discovered he had an outstanding warrant from Somerville District Court for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. Then, while conducting a search of Szulewski’s property, police discovered approximately 70 grams of Marijuana.
