Tewksbury Prepares for Fourth of July Celebration

Full day of festivities planned for Saunders Recreation Area, culminating with fireworks display in the evening.

(Editor's note: The following information was submitted by the Friends of the Pattriotic Activities Committee.) Join The Friends of the Tewksbury Patriotic Activities Committee for Tewksbury’s Annual Fourth of July Celebration, happening Monday,  July 4th at the Livingston Street Recreational Area.  The day will be filled with fun events for the whole family, followed by a concert and a fantastic fireworks display! We’re starting the day with a Continental breakfast at Livingston Park (behind the Youth Center) from 8:30 – 10:00 AM provided by the Friends of the Tewksbury Patriotic Activities Committee.  Following breakfast, we will have Track & Field Games for all ages.  These will run from 10:00 AM – 12 PM. Senior Center to Host Farmers Market Every Thursday

Local growers are encouraged to participate.

A Farmer’s Market will take place this Thursday, June 30th, from 12:00 noon to 5:00 PM. This year the Farmer’s Market will be held at the Town Hall Common. It is hoped that we will be able to increase participation by local farmers as the summer unveils. For more information or to register, one may call Linda Brabant at 978-640-4480 Monday through Thursday or e-mail her at lbrabant@tewksbury-ma.gov.  A note of thanks is extended to all our Senior Volunteers who worked the Yard Sale this past weekend; and, to all those people who patronized the event. just came home from a visit to the Farmers Market...it was small, but definatley beautiful fruit and veggies...the woman there was very nice! I hope that it expands...but it takes time...i will be going back next week to get another yummy looking Tomatoe!!!!   more ›

"Elvis" to Kick off Fourth of July Weekend at Tewksbury Country Club

Impersonator Dana Z and band headline a night to include a dinner at the club.

Elvis has entered the building—well, sort of. On Friday July 1, Elvis impersonator Dana Z will enter the Tewksbury Country Club for a tribute concert. The event is being dubbed “Elvis Salutes America” because of the concert’s proximity to the 4th of July weekend. Dana Z—which stands for Zagoreos—has been performing as an Elvis impersonator for almost 10 years. On his website, he credits himself as "only LIVE BAND Elvis show in town." Zagoreos is known as an ETA in the impersonator world, or an Elvis Tribute Artist. An ETA’s job is to simulate an Elvis concert as best as possible, said Zagoreos. “Concert styles range from the 50's, 60's, and 70's,” he said. “(The) 70's being my main act ... because it’s more of an audience interest.” …
