Redmen Fall Just Short In Billerica, 20-14

Penalties and turnovers are costly as Tewksbury High football team throws a scare into Billerica.

The toughest pill for the Tewksbury High Redmen to swallow when they look back on Friday night's 20-14 loss to Billerica will be the fact that this was a game they very much could have won. A slew of penalties, a couple of dropped passes and three turnovers derailed what should have been a good enough effort to give Tewksbury its third straight Merrimack Valley Conference upset victory. "It's pretty frustrating," said TMHS head coach Brian Aylward afterward. "We're not good enough to come in here and not execute and we're certainly not good enough to come in here and hand over anything in terms of penalties and turnovers and that kind of stuff like we did tonight." Tewksbury's Ground Game Does It Again [video]

Redmen prove they are for real with a convincing, 21-6 win over Central Catholic.

Senior quarterback Kevin Saunders had one of the best games of his career for Tewksbury, completing 6-of-10 passes for 92 yards and a touchdown, …

Redmen Lose A Tough One In Lawrence

Turnovers are costly in Tewksbury High football team's 22-15 loss to Lawrence.

If there's one thing Tewksbury High football coach Brian Aylward has learned in his 15 years of coaching Merrimack Valley Conference football, it's that you can't give the other team extra chances by turning the ball over, and still expect to win. "It's frustrating," said Aylward after watching his team commit four costly turnovers in dropping a heartbreaking 22-15 decision to Lawrence High School at Veteran's Memorial Stadium Friday night. "We can't give any team a short field four times and expect that we're going to be able to hold them out all four times. We can't make mistakes like that. If teams are going to get anything from us, we have to make them earn it." Ironically, the Redmen did make Lawrence work tremendously hard to earn …
