Second Suspect Arrested In Kidnapping, Carjacking

Victim was kidnapped at Motel 6 on Dec. 26.

Tewksbury Police have apprehended a second suspect in connection with a carjacking/kidnapping that took place on the day after Christmas. Tayla Spencer, 18, of 16 Fowler St, Dorchester, is charged with Kidnapping, Armed Assault with Intent to Murder, Armed Robbery, Carjacking and Conspiracy. According to Police Chief Timothy Sheehan, Spencer was arrested on Jan. 21 in Boston after the Tewksbury Police Department obtained an arrest warrant for her. The arrest was made with the assistance from the Boston Police Department. The arrest is in connection with an incident that took place on Dec. 26. Man Charged In Connection With Motel 6 Carjacking, Kidnapping

Victim escaped in Lowell, suspect arrested in Roxbury.

A 23-year-old man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly carjacking a man at knifepoint in the parking lot of Motel 6. Jeffrey Venter of Boston, no know address, was arrested in Roxbury on Jan. 1 with the help of the Boston Police Department. Tewksbury Police had obtained an arrest warrant on Ventner, charging him with Kidnapping, Armed Assault with Intent to Murder, Carjacking, Armed Robbery, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Assault and Battery. Man Tells Police He Was Kidnapped, Held At Motel 6

The following information was supplied by the Tewksbury Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A motel room a the Motel 6 on Route 38 was being investigated as a possible crime scene after a man claimed he had been kidnapped and held there. On Wednesday, around 9:30 a.m., Lowell Police called their Tewksbury counterparts to report they had a man who claimed he had been kidnapped from Dorchester, held for a time in a room at the Motel 6 and later carjacked in Lowell. Tewksbury Police_ took the claim seriously, bringing in a CSI unit to scour the motel room. The victim was brought back to Tewksbury Police Headquarters and a report was filed. Police Close Case on Man Who Approached Young Girl

Police are able to track down the owner of the tan Ford Taurus who told a 10-year-old he was looking for a lost dog.

Tewksbury Police investigators successfully tracked down the driver of a tan Ford Taurus who approached a 10-year-old girl Friday evening claiming to be looking for a lost dog. The incident took place near Green Street and the girl and her father reported it to police on Saturday. According to Police Chief Timothy Sheehan, the investigation revealed that the man was, in fact, looking for a dog that was owned by a relative and had been last seen in the Silver Lake area. The case has now been closed, said Sheehan. According to information in the Tewksbury Police log, the incident took place between 6:30 and 7 p.m. on Sept. 7. Arrest Made In Connection With Disappearance Of Tewksbury Teen

Anthony McNeil has been found alive and unharmed.

The biological sister of Anthony McNeil has been arrested in connection with the Tewksbury teen's disappearance this week. Elenie M. Vazquez, 22, of 82 Brick Kiln Road, Apt. 203, Chelmsford, has been charged with misleading a police officer during an investigation and with custodial kidnapping. Anthony, 14, was reported missing by his father, Dennis McNeil, Thursday, June 7, at around 8:30 p.m. Anthony had called his father at work that afternoon and told him he was walking to the Livingston Street fields and that he could be picked up at 5:30 p.m. Dennis McNeil made several trips to the fields between 5:30 and 8:30 without being able to locate Anthony before finally calling the police. Tewksbury Woman Allegedly Kidnapped, Assaulted Over Two Days

Suspect arrested arraigned on attempted murder, kidnapping charges.

A Woburn man was held on $50,000 bail last night after being arrested and charged with attempted murder. Thomas Ponte, 41, of 75 Elm St., was arrested and charged with attempted murder, armed kidnapping with serious bodily injury, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (three counts), intimidation of a witness, larceny under $250 and malicious destruction of property over $250. The victim in the case is a Tewksbury woman, whom Ponte allegedly kidnapped and and assaulted over two days. In Woburn District Court Wednesday afternoon, Ponte was represented by a public defender, but loudly remarked that he would be "hiring my own lawyer." A pair of Tewksbury teens are facing multiple felony charges after allegedly forcing their way into a Catamount Road home an assaulting one of the residents with a hammer and a metal crowbar. Alex Smith, 18, of 91 Germano Drive, and Ray Tremlett, 18, of 3 Tomahawk Drive, were arrested Friday (Oct. 28) and charged with armed home invasion, kidnapping, assault & battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault with intent to rob. A Lowell man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly holding a woman against her will and assaulting her in a Tewksbury motel. Cory Convey, 25, of 82 Walker St., was arrested at 5 a.m. Tuesday at Motel 6 and was charged with assault and battery, kidnapping, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and intimidating a witness. According to the police report, the incident began when a clerk from Motel 6 called, saying he had received a call from Room 218. Three men are in custody facing multiple felony charges, after a brutal armed robbery/home invasion on Thursday. Brandon Dorrington 24 of 45 Bowler St., Lynn, Jared Dorrington, 18, of 9 Sterling Place, Chelmsford and Brady Yanosick, 18, of 4 Riverhurst Road Apt. 235, Billerica, were arrested Saturday at their residences by detectives from the Tewksbury Criminal Bureau, according to Chief Timothy Sheehan. Billerica Man Charged With Kidnapping and Attempted Murder

Man charged after domestic dispute.

A Billerica man is facing attempted murder, kidnapping, breaking and entering and assault charges after he allegedly tried to strangle his girlfriend in their apartment Tuesday.  On Tuesday at 9:21 p.m., the Tewksbury Police Department responded to a Pike Street apartment for a report of a domestic assault in progress. Police located the victim hiding in another apartment.
